How hard is it to transition from Developer to Product Manager
Hi everyone. I'm currently working in an IT Service company, with over a year of experience in building and testing finance products for the US market. How hard will it be to transition from dev to a pm role? I've been learning, engaging with other pm leaders in the industry and building different projects for my portfolio.
Because I feel this transition allows me to leverage my technical knowledge to architect experiences that genuinely matter to people. It's about more than just lines of code; it's about crafting meaningful experiences for people.

Or You could simply say more money đ

The more important question is Why do you want to transition.
I believe it's the next natural step in my career journey. As a Developer, I have gained valuable technical expertise and problem-solving skills, which I deeply cherish. However, I yearn to broaden my horizons and take on a more holistic role in the product development process..
Lot of PMs want to go back to Dev. Right now, the market is bad so transition will be very difficult

Don't transition if you are doing it for money and are in your early career days.(5-7 years) A developer would ALWAYS earn more than a PM unless you are a prodigy or in the right place at the right time.

PS: I am a PM, not a developer
