How to become a Product Manager?

Lately I am in dilemma to take up the IC role or EM role, meanwhile got a thought of being a PM altogether. I don’t have a MBA degree, just a plain BE degree from Mumbai university.

I'm a final year student at a tier-1 engineering college. I am looking to break into product management and have been looking for internships and full time opportunities for the last 5 months. I've had no luck so far, and my campus placements are not up to the mark this year so no luck there as well. I've done all the essentials for preparing for this role, like preparing for interviews, participating in product teardowns, working on a portfolio etc. I initially planned to work for a few years and do an MBA in the US but I'm seriously contemplating going for a master's degree now (maybe MiM in EU or some MS in software applications in the US). Looking for advice on what should be my next steps. PS: I'm not looking to do an MBA in India. If I go for a master's degree, I want to do it abroad.

I am a final year mechanical engineering student who wants to get into product management, i have two internships and one certification but that's a different story as most of the people having better interships and skills are struggling to land an offer , i would be graduating in June 2024 and before that I want to land at decent product role at entry level , i have 6 months left what should I do , how can I stand out being a tier 3 college student with mechanical engineering background, i am learning and following product management since past 1.5 years

Hello everyone, This is my first post. I am a recent graduate from NIT, and unfortunately, I haven't been able to get a placement. My career goal is to work in a Product Management (PM) role. As a fresher, I've taken the initiative to start learning about this industry I have completed four courses in Product Management, covering areas such as: - Product Analysis - Go-to-Market Strategy - Market Analysis I am eager to apply my skills and start my journey in this exciting field. I am a 2024 batch student currently doing my third product management internship, I am building my tech skills like having grasp on SQL as well , i want to land a good entryr level product role right after college or an APM program , please help me and tell how can I enhance my skills as well , i am tier 3 college student from a mechanical engineering background. I am a Finance guy with around three years of experience but thinking to move to Product roles in fintech or a products that has anything to do with transactions. Where do I start?

I have a close friend of mine looking to switch from finance industry to product management. Is there anyone you know who has done similar thing? in your opinion what are the steps someone should take in this direction?

I am doing BS in Data Science and have recently been exploring the Product management domain. I have basic knowledge of Product market fit, Product roadmap, PRD, Data analysis, product pricing and models and product leadership. I have experience in Machine learning as well, did a prediction modelling project. Please share with someone who is hiring or you know any opportunities. I am a 2023 graduate and a product Enthusiast. I am from a top tier NIT but unfortunately no companies come for PM roles. I have no idea why. I have a placement in a very good company and a very good salary but im not satisfied because its not in Product. What are my options, what do I do? I am not at all interested in another rat race to the IIMs and MBA degrees. I just want to work and hustle. What can I do?? Appreciate all the suggestions. Thank you
