How to tackle interview Q's on my short stints?

Hey everyone, I hope you can help me out with this one query i have, is it fine to tell the interviewer that i got laid off when they ask why i am looking for a job change in this marker? I have been WFH for 2 years, have 6L in liquidity for runway i guess, idk if it's safe or not but how is the job market currently. Recently gave interview in a tier 1 product based company, got rejected in 2nd round as well so what should be my plan now? How to tackle this feeling of being incompetent and anxiety? I hope you can me out with these questions 😭

I have 5+ years of total experience - 3+ years of BA (business analyst) + Sr BA experience and a year of Product Manager 2 experience. Then I started my own venture. I'm thinking about switching back to the product manager role as my firm is not working as per the expectations and product development & growth marketing is something I genuinely enjoy working on. I need some advice from you all - how can I justify my 'employment gap'? What should I tell (or rather hide) about start-up failure? What should be my approach while applying for PM openings? Where should I start? I have graduated from an IIT, how can I leverage that? I know some of these questions would sound noobish, but I really don't have much experience in switching careers. Your help is appreciated 🙂.

I was super curious for product management roles and switch to startups was one of easy bets, my current role( 3 yr work ex as implementation consultant) in B2B involved customer interaction and working on requirements on OOTB product,but back then i didn't appear many interviews, i wasn't actively applying but with recent scenario of all layoffs and startups fundings, what should be a good strategy now? It has been 25 days since I got laid off from the startup that I was working for. I have given a few interviews. Got rejected in 1st or 2nd rounds in a few, went till the last round n rejected in a couple and haven't heard back from the HR in a few. Not hearing back, unanswered calls, delays in rounds etc. cause a lot of anxiety and impacts my confidence and preparation levels. How do I tackle it? Also, unable to find fresh openings in product/ strategy roles for past few days. This also adds to pressure and uncertainty. In short, it is a very troubling phase. How do I deal with it? Need enormous help from all of you folks. Would love to hear some great thoughts / insights / hacks too.

I have a total of 2 years of experience and changed 3 companies in 2 years so I left my first organisation in 6 months because There was no personal growth in that team then been layoff from 2 organisations in a period of 1.5 years these layoffs were due to financial issues in company not any performance issue so now in interviews I was asked why you change company so quick how should I answer this question and how does this impact my impression

Background, I got laid off from an organisation and by god's grace I had a offer, which was not that good 10% decrement in salary, but me being a scared person joined the company. Now 1 month after I realised I can do much better and market seems to open up. What should I tell the HR in 2 scenarios. 1. I had already started Interviewing and haven't mentioned that I was layed off. What should I tell if I get selected? 2. If a opportunity comes to start Interviewing for seperate company, should I mention about ty current company or no? PS. The work in current organisation is not that good and it's a contractual role.

I would like to discuss the coping strategies people use when suffering from prolonged unemployment. Hi guys! I recently got laid off from my company. It was a v early strage startup. Need help navigating the job hunting process. I've been applying to a lot of companies but not getting any calls. 🥲 would really appreciate if someone who is/was in the same situation can suggest tips on how to atleast get to interview round 1.

I am a frontend developer with 1.4 years of experience. I worked in a YC-backed startup where I led their product. I have given interviews at Simpl Pay, PhonePe and many small and mid-sized startups. For Simpl Pay and PhonePe, I failed the interviews and was disappointed in myself. In small and mid-sized startups there I answered 95% of their questions perfectly, yet I was still rejected. I have given 9 interviews to date and have been rejected in each of them. I would say 60% of them were interviews where I answered every question correctly and felt I should have been hired while 40% were ones where I failed to answer some questions and deserved the rejection. It has been 6-7 months that I am unemployed, learning React Native and TypeScript and going deeper into frontend technologies. I am not able to understand if this is only happening to me or if it is common in the current market. Any guidance or advice that could help me get a job quickly would be greatly appreciated. I feel well-prepared for interviews but any additional insights you have might be beneficial.

Hi Grapes, I am looking for a job in a product role .I do have a kind of 3 plus years of early stage product building experience but was laid off last year .It's been a tiring journey since then ,trying my best to get a job in the current market but interview calls are not coming ,if they come they are taking one or two rounds and then HR ghosts without any update.Trying my luck here too , if anyone is hiring would love to connect .Anyone facing a similar situation can contribute their thoughts .
