How's Grapevine different from Discord?

I understand the concept of this app is to stay anonymous and discuss news related to work and the economy but HEAR ME OUT what if…. We have small meet-ups like people who are in the same city who are interested to catch up and do things. Most of the people working in places like BLR / Pune / Mumbai etc. are more often than not people who come from other places. Freshers don’t really have a circle here to do things with. So if people are interested to unmask themselves and meet up with each other do you think that would be a good idea?

Currently I am discovering gv. I am loving it. You don't get doxxed(🤞) + you get to chat and converse with others like it's a WhatsApp group. Kinda love this. Is this just me? or 👀 If so, then what is the idea of social media. To bring more people to a platform or make it a limited area where you don't get to be toxic and making the space enjoyable

I barely open the Discord community now. Really like the app - excited to see how upcoming features and network effects shape it ✨

I saw the founders' posts about hiring for Grapevine. Did you guys raise funds? If not, how is this being funded? How do you plan to monetize? What's next for Grapevine?

UI: A new font, new like (upvote) button and new community icons across the app 3. 100 Private Grapevines: We are proud/happy to share that there's now 100 private company grapevines where verified employees talk amongst each other. Join your company's Grapevine now. 4. Grapes 2.0: A new definition for Grape rewards coming soon. Grapes 2.0 definition will include more value to users for creating 'chatty' posts and verifying yourselves 5. Direct Messages: Multiple changes to improve the DM experience on Grapevine. You can also DM anyone from the Grapevine team (including MS) at any time without any Grape-constraints :) 6. Hi Grapeviners Over the last month or so we announced two massive products that are as big as Grapevine itself: 

1. Private Company groups with verification 2. Salaries on Grapevine Thousands of you have since adopted these products, but most importantly, you gave us great feedback and we are working on making these more helpful Here’s what you can expect from Grapevine in the next few weeks: 1. Direct Messaging on Grapevine (yes yes, I know at this point everyone seems to be giving up on this xD) 2. V2 Update to Salaries - making it more useful with more data points 3. Launching verification and company private groups for 100 companies (we will keep doing this where we have enough people) 4. A better feed: We are hoping to show you less of posts you’ve already seen (A common complain with Grapevine) 5. A new approach to communities on Grapevine 6. A feature buff to Polls - making them even more insights rich 7. Better Link type posts - currently links on Grapevine are broken 8. Grapes V2: People will get grapes for creating ‘Chatty posts’ and ‘Deep Polls’ over and above the current definition of Grapes that is just focused on the number of likes you get 9. I’ll go first. To me, it’s all about access. Access to authentic ideas. The best search result you get on Google is high SEO but low authenticity. On LinkedIn, there are so many people but everyone is shilling a course or 1:1 resume reviews. Mostly it has become a place which started as vanity signalling Like ( I have started a new role…, I have been accepted at …, I have received offers from F, A, N and G and I’m joining G.) And now people pushing mindless content with “Agree?” or “Comment Interested”. Somehow, everyone is truly inauthentic to please a wider audience and say the exact same generic gyaan to maximise engagement. For now, Grapevine is where people are genuinely themselves and I get to hear interesting things that you get to hear near the coffee machine. Kinda feels like we’re all a big community where we all contribute and learn new things about the professional landscape around us. Godspeed Grapevine. 🚀
