I took a sabbatical to travel the world and find my next big idea. A year later, I'm back home with no epiphanies and a drained savings account. Was it all a waste?
Everyone said travel would spark creativity and lead to my next venture. Instead, I'm more confused than ever and feeling the pressure to jump back into a traditional job. Has anyone else taken a big career break that didn't pay off as expected? How did you reframe the experience?

Yes I know of this dillema , most of the people who do this are chasing the Instagrammy lifestyle...not worth it. Ask yourself this question, would you still travel if you couldn't take one pic or tell anyone? If no then you have your answer.
Look on the bright side..you have made many memories and done what a lot of people have not...write a book/blog drive traffic through and try affilate marketing.
Even if nothing good came out of it....just remember you have stories for your dates to impress

Hey i can so relate to you. So i got laid off from my first job 5 months back. Unlike others, i took the time to read and do a lot of self reflection. I thought i was gonna make it big now. I was also preparing for interviews simultaneously but not whole heartedly. And here i am after 5 months, without a job and drained savings. I have so many missed opportunities rn only because I focused more on my well being and less on working hard. Belief system is fucked up now :)

Seems like you didn't encounter any problem to solve while on world tour and couldn't get an idea of building any product for consumers may be there are a lot of things that already exist out there
Everyone? Who told you that? Lol I haven't heard it. Plus Don't blindly follow stuff from internet bullshitters aka influencers
Yea, it's not the 90s anyone.
