I've 5 years of experience in startups working around multiple programming languages and working all the way from Backend to Databases to DevOps.

For the past 2 months I've applied to more than 200+ global companies or startups who hire remotely. I don't know what I am doing wrong because I got rejected from most of them. One pointer I've seen is most of them are hiring for more senior folks.

Companies I've applied like - Ghost.org, fly.io, toggl, buffer.com etc. 

The competition for these organizations are furious I know that but what can I do to improve my chances? Because I've tried the referral way as well they do not give referral to people they do not know.

Any suggestions?

Roadmap for getting hired in Global Remote Companies

So I have been looking for remote opportunities so that I can invest more (No rent), focus on health (less travel time more gym time), and travel (planning 2 international trips this year).

Been in corporate for 18+ years. It's been a good run by God's grace. 

Situation currently is I have been WFH for last 3 years and office is requesting return to head office in a metro for at least 2d a week for senior folks. 

Unfortunately as you can understand, I am 40 and got an ailing parent with me being primary caregiver. Moving is not practical. 

Anyone else in same boat? What did you do?

I recently got an offer from a US based company offering remote work. That makes it two offers, the other being completely from the office.  

I read online that remote jobs are not that great especially for freshers. What are your views on this?

And which one should I prefer? Remote job pays 40% less.

What is the scene of US remote Jobs availability for indians. Whenever I try to convince that these are rare and needs highly specific skillset & experience in an area, i see a twitter post or YT video explaining how they got one ( No useful stuff tho). Lot of FOMO yaar..

I am looking out for companies providing permanent work from home opportunities for non it roles. Please help which company has good perks and benefits and are operating remotely

I have the worst luck anyone could imagine. Recently joined new org, the project for which I was hired got shut down and now I am being moved to a role which is not at all what I signed up for. Currently working in Supply Chain Management specifically Warehouse Management. 

I am so fed up with this on floor roles. Want to work in role where I get to use my brain. Going to learn programming. No idea how to start. Can someone help me in finding a path to a better job.
For me a better job is anything that pays more than 7LPA which is remote and the skills required are in demand and can be learnt in few months.

Hi all, 

I'm a PM with 3 years of B2C experience working at a mid sized startup. I recently joined and the toxic culture around being at office all the time is taking a toll on me. The founder is unwilling to even consider medical / health related issues for giving WFH and deliberately schedules meetings at 7-7:30 PM so that people stay longer hours. 

HR never told me about such strict aversion to WFH or flexible timings during hiring and now I feel stuck. Unfortunately, I have heard it's the same with a lot of companies - even big sized unicorns. 

I have now decided to only and exclusively be open to remote jobs coming from US/EU startups even if they happen to pay me lesser. If you're someone who's in similar company, can you please tell me the process of how you cracked it? And if there's an opening somewhere, would you be willing to refer me?

I started my professional journey as backend support for Swiggy, where I honed my skills in operations, customer service, and troubleshooting. Following this, I transitioned into the HR field, working as an HR Administrator/Generalist in real estate and finance startups for the past two years. In these roles, I was responsible for employee management, recruitment and providing general HR support.

As I shift my focus to finding remote work, I’m exploring several job platforms, but I’m also aware that each comes with its own set of advantages and drawbacks:

Dedicated Remote Job Websites (e.g., We Work Remotely, Remote.co): These are tailored to remote roles and offer many opportunities, but some postings can be outdated or many of the positions are concentrated in certain regions.

Freelancing Platforms (Upwork, Freelancer): They are excellent for flexible remote work, but may not always lead to long-term positions. Plus, the bidding system can often undervalue professional experience.


I would deeply appreciate any recommendations or referrals for remote roles, particularly in HR administration, generalist positions, or operations support. Any insights on navigating remote job platforms or tips on improving my chances of landing a remote role would be invaluable.
