Independent work vs corporate job

Hi all! I have 16 years of work ex in Corporate sales and currently working in a leading indian Fintech from last 9 years. I am feeling stuck here with no visibility of growth or even sense of job security. I didn't take risks in my career as I am sole bread earner for my family but it was biggest risk I guess I took. Plz suggest me what all I should do to find good opportunities in terms of growth and job stability. I am introspecting and would really appreciate your valuable feedbacks.

My only motive is to make money and that's it. Making friends is not a problem for me. 25 M and been in mental pain for 3Y now. Only way that I can envision to stop myself from falling apart is leaving the country and living far away from the people I know. Education: 3Y undergraduate from IPU. Work Ex: 1.5Y product design & post that 2Y working in a known's business as their right-hand man overseeing new initiatives. I am stuck as to what should be the charter and how should I move and where should I move? Only motive is to make money. Independent enough to manage everything else. Current state - I work as a PM intern at a startup. We shipped a major release few months back and since then I barely have any work. It's an ops heavy startup, so the work we do is just supplementary and I'm not making a huge impact anymore. I'm one of the select remote workers here and I've been with the org for the last 2 yrs, working parallelly alongside my college. Initially the work was exciting but now it has died down. The org has a okayish culture. There's no downside but limited upside as well. Pay is pretty good for me (considering I work <2hrs/week) but below average for fulltimers. A little context - I'm pursuing an integrated(5yr) degree from a reputed B-school in Mumbai and I'll be graduating coming July. The placement cycle will start soon but I'm extremely unsure of what I want to go ahead with. I have varied interest. I like to tinker and play around with things. I've built successful social media pages & YT channels in the past. I've freelanced in digital marketing, web development and made decent money out of it. I've built chrome extensions and apps with several thousand users. I feel like I also have interest in web3, strategy, founders office and consulting roles. Few months back, I got an offer from a DeFi company, however they receded it once they realised I still have more than a year left to graduate. The confusion - I feel like I should leave my current org as there's no more learning here. However, I don't know in which direction should I proceed after that. The only thing I'm sure of is I'm not built for big corporates. I enjoy working with high ownership and small sized startups seem like the only option. I have 8 months of college left and I'll have to start looking for jobs within next 1-2months. (continued in comments)

I am a Software Engineer with 6 years of work experience. Currently working for a US based startup. Previously I have worked for Amazon and a couple of Indian startups. My current org is remote and I am working from my hometown. It's super chill in this company and work is only to build CRUD and APIs. I feel too stagnant here, my manager is also super chill and is in retirement mode. I feel this will message my future. I joined this company so I can work on my start up but haven't been very active there too. Recently a Google recruiter contacted me for a L4 role and had the recruiter screen and he scheduled the interview for the next month. Google base monthly salary for L4 is way below my current since it's a US based startup. But with RSUs Google annual CTC his higher. I am confused whether to continue in my org and focus back on startup or start preparing for Google interview. In the long term I want to start my company. At the same time Google will offer an AI ecosystem and resources that will help my startup. Please share your views.

Hi, I am currently 22, graduated recently from a tier 2 institute and currently working at a US based startup earning 18lpa ( almost all base ) + rsu's, lately my family have been nagging me to do a postgrad, I am confused weather I should do an MBA, MS or not do a postgrad at all considering the years I will miss in workex. What should be my best course of action considering ROI in the next 10-15 years ?? P.S. Currently I am not sure what my interest lies in, but just try to excel at whatever comes my way.

I'm currently working on an FTE job - wherein the offer letter its mentioned "During the term of your employment with the Company, you may not engage in any employment or act in any way, which either conflicts with your duties and obligations to the Company, or is contrary to the policies or the interests of the Company." Now, I'm getting enough time and I want to consider working in a 0-1 startup, and the new company I'm joining will know about my current employer - The above mentioned is the only clause the current employer have regarding working in other company. Can the current employer legally put a case anytime in the future if they get to know this? - what are the loopholes I can use here? What position I can join in as (Consultant, Advisory role) - Still an early career professional in order to avoid conflict afterwards. Thank you for your help!!

Should I work at well-named startups or companies to work at (eg: CRED, Infosys, etc) with less pay? Or Should I work at unknown startups or companies (eg: early-stage startups or local companies) with higher pay? (x2 the salary here). Note: For the above, the experience & designation are the same. The question is related to future work prospects does working at we'll name brands help me get higher pay in the future?

I was recently impacted by layoff and having 20yrs of exp into application support and service management with last 10yrs grown into a middle management role(limited tech hands-on and no dev experience nor CS background) While I am financially ok atm and can manage staying at home for next 12-24 months, I am not financially independent yet. its getting too boring and I want to get back into some sort of work routine as I am keen on retirement yet. Challenges I am seeing with finding a new opportunity: - The job market seems to be quite restricted for senior roles with that experience - Few that came across were at a substantial low salary. - Some others required significant hands-on experience Thought process:: - While salary is not a major concern, I am not sure if I makes sense to take a pay cut. - Given the speed of tech changes, not sure what kind of learning/certification would be helpful - Even if I do tech self-learning, lack of practical hands-on seems to be a drawback - At 40+ while I am open to work hard and learn, i view is to find a job and learn into it , rather than other wat round Any guidance/pointers would be appreciated. As would any leads/introductions on suitable opportunities you know of.

Hi! I have a professional dilemma and would appreciate any thoughts, advice and experience you can share. I have a 5+ years in strategy consulting working for a Big4 - I like my work, team and the organisation Though, now I crave for some different experience - maybe work for startup’s or a VC firm I have been offered a job in a boutique investment bank - which works with startup’s in India My questions: 1. Is it worth switching for a Big4 to a Boutique Investment Bank - will it effect my further employability 2. Does this get me closer to my goal of working for a VC fund someday? 3.
