Notwithstanding a few things that are going well for the country… — High GDP growth rate for a developing country — Low median age a.k.a _potential_ demographic dividend — A stable government To me, it seems like we are on a fast path to devastation. Each of the points mentioned above have a counter point but other than that — Very high income inequality [1] — Absolutely shitty education system. [2] and health system [3] — Increasing oligarchy [Adani in every fucking industry] — Reducing Labour force participation + no jobs (both government and private) = unemployment — People fighting day in - day out on religion, caste, region. On who wears what. Who eats what. Who goes where. Whatever they can find to fight for. There is absolutely ZERO hope for a large part of this country. You either need generational wealth, insane amount of talent or political connections to be moderately successful. It feels just 10 more years of this shit would make this country a massive powder keg waiting to just light up! Does anyone see hope? India's unstoppable rise in tech and innovation makes the West's decline clear. Yet immigration number always baffles me - are we being shortsighted? 🤔

This post really caught me off guard. Can’t stop wondering if we could ever get to a place of such ownership and care for public infrastructure in India.

Whenever I read foreign media outlets, India is the new Asian Tiger that will outpace most emerging economies in growth. But Indian media and Indian people act like India is the worst place to be. The dichotomy is extremely confusing. Why is it that foreign media coverage on our economy is more favourable than our own hopes and aspirations from this country? PS: I am really big on Indian Exceptionalism, the belief that India's economic development and trajectory are unique or exceptional compared to other nations, driven by our large and diverse population, thriving middle class, our entrepreneurial spirit, and the emphasis on technology and innovation. Overpopulation. No matter which issue you pick, under a few layers, there is a tsunami of people behind each and everything. Poverty? Because of Overpopulation Low Literacy? Because of Overpopulation Joblessness? Because of Overpopulation Majority of our public transport is bad? Under a few layers, Overpopulation Government unable take drastic steps for improvement? Overpopulation I think even these unnecessary rallies and “morchas” run by the government where you see “TONS of people” is also due to overpopulation. IF we weren’t 1.9 Billion, maybe a billion less, I think India would be free of its shackles and probably a superpower 50 years ahead of its current trajectory (These are all non-factual statements. Feel free to debate on this) I love my country, but I’m curious to understand if population is the only thing holding us back, or is it something else

We all know what has happened. How unsafe it is for a woman to literally do her job, earn an honest living, etc. For the past few days or months rather, I have been thinking of moving out of the country just to experience freedom. Of course, the thought of it also reeks of privilege and the fact that I'm able to choose whether or not I should stay in the country is also reflective of that. I'm aware of the fact that things wouldn't be as rosy abroad as people paint it to be, you have to leave a lot of comforts etc. Today is independence day. And I'm so conflicted. I'm generally a very patriotic person. I have always loved my country. It's hard to like it these days.

Considering everything while may lead to better quality of life as resource per child will increase but on other hand in next 100 or 200 years, our country might face aging problem.
