Is GrowthX a fad?

Been hearing a lot of chatter about how GrowthX isn’t as great as its advertised. Any truth to that? Is it really worth to pay that kind of money for a 8 week course and just for community?

I'm a senior marketing lead, after seeing GrowthX Day and the presentations, I'm unfortunately scarred for life and would never interview anyone (let alone hire) who brandishes this ch**** tag. Absolute bottom tier output. Enough free shit out there. If your company pays for learning get Reforge.

You're a senior marketing lead? What on earth is that title 🤣

On a serious note though, I liked Hinges presentation a lot and I don't need to mention my title of director or anything to build clout.

I couldn't bear the sing songy BS and the performative Alia Bhatt mentions. I mean imagine presenting like that to Vivek Sunder and Sriharsha - i know one of those would rip you a new asshole? And none of the ideas were path breaking - that postcard thing was so done to death. The get girls first is the core insight for 50 years on matchmaking. The numbers were pure Excel baazi. Also senior marketing lead isn't a title :p just a dude who's usually head of marketing/ brand/ growth. Agli baar head of marketing likh dunga Bhai.

The best way to understand this is by speaking to the folks who did it. Try messaging folks who have a similar work background as you.

I work with people who’ve done growthX
Safe to say I don’t see them doing anything out of the box for my team but very generalist out dated marketing views.

Yes. People do GrowthX for out of the box thinking. Sigh.

I've only met one person from growthX and they weren't impressive

I am working Product Manager - Growth. GrowthX/Nextleap seems like a sham to me. The exclusivity/hype for GrowthX is all due to their virality and promo tactics. This learn in public challenge is just a marketing gimmick, nothing more. Same with Demo Day. If you really want to do Growth, go for Reforge. Costs ₹2 lakhs a year for membership but absolute gold in terms of knowledge.

Thanks for sharing this.
Though I have heard decent reviews about NextLeap’s product design fellowship.

In a full time role already. Is it actually the next pivotal step or I could rather Reforge blogs instead?

Reforge all the way

I did it.

It’s good for folks working in tech companies:

  • folks who will also apply this at work ( if your management doesn’t buy this, it’s a waste)
  • if you are a growth marketer/ PM, it’s relevant
  • if you are really looking for framework - cause they do not teach bullshit for sure.

Has anyone done a course for growthschool?

I personally have a pathetic experience. Their course material is good but they overcharge a lot. Upwards of 25K for a 8 week course. They have pre recorded videos. And huge cohorts. Live sessi...
