Yes, the M series is usually better than i7 intels. And battery consumption is a major differentiator. Get a monitor if the screen size doesn't suit you.

Bought base variant M1 for 65k and it's the best thing at the price, can do a lot than what I expected it to be. Reason I didn't go for air M2 is because of same Ram and storage.
