Is there someone who did NOT network and still achieved success?

A question to folks with more than 4/5 YOE. Please do mention your job/industry, and what success means to you. Heck, it can be professional or personal. Did you see your job as just a job? What was THE factor for your success?

Excited to hear your stories!

Networking happens only when you have something to contribute. So essentially, meeting many people or attending parties is not networking.
Only after you are "successful" , you actually start to network.
Networking is just corporate speak for quid pro quo.

I'm not very good at networking, so it would be helpful to see comments. Commenting to get notified.
