Kids grow up, start earning and take parents to fast food chains to experience "luxury"

Middle class parents have always saved up money, cutting out trivial expenses When kids get their own money, they want to shake up things - order in or eating out. Dragging down the health (and wealth) that parents built over the years

Was in a mall food court and saw parents - simple and humble - enjoying the little burger and fries, while being proud of their son/daughter being all grown up I am guilty of this too

It's their hard earned money. They have seen the days when they didn't have anything. So, it's fine they are spending that money with their parents enjoying their food rather than spending in some wrong way. I guess this is beautiful.

I face this too. Oftentimes I use to bring ice cream and pastries for my mom and dad. My dad have control he doesn't like much. But my mom now craves the ice cream and pastries like she is a kid. Now I have to explain her how it uses palm oil and maida. Lets make it at home. She sometimes now bake a cake at home. Tastier then outside pastries. As ice cream we ate frozen mango shake.

They won’t eat out everyday. Why overthink simple things in life? Going out once in a while is fine. Eating out few times a month is fine. As long as you are not overdoing it, everything should be fine. And if you overdo, your parents won’t let you

If our parents had the same money and going out options back in their day, they would have done the same.
