Curated from across
Tier 1 MBA, 5 years of consulting plus corp strategy experience, 2 years data science exp pre MBA. Current ctc around 45. Speaking to friends etc in the PM roles, I've developed an interest in the role. And would like to give it a fair shot. Just can't seem to figure out how. Any pointers would be really helpful.

Hey y’all! Have a curious question about my career domain. I got chance to work with multiple teams in multiple domains through out my tenure at my company. I have experience of seller support for 1.2 years, then got into program management and stayed for 1.5 years in that domain. Then I got a chance to work as a QA tester where I did 50% testing and 50% program management work for 3 years. So when I apply to new companies now, is it safe to consider I have 4.5 years of experience in program management? Thanks in advance folks.

Me: APM with almost 2 years of experience looking to do an MBA to fast track my career. Post-MBA roles: - Product Management - Strategy Roles - Program/Project Management - General Management - Other similar roles Long term goal: To stay in India; fine with working 2-3 years abroad. Query 1: Considering an average profile with 9/8/8 in high school/intermediate/college, tier-1 undergrad and 2 years work-ex at a start-up. Do I have a chance to bag an MBA admit from the following with little scholarship: - LBS - Insead - HEC Paris - Oxford - Cambridge - SDA Bocconi - NUS Singapore - IESE - ISB I'm targeting 1 year programs only for cost purposes, hence the US is out of the picture. Feel free to suggest good 1 yr US programs Query 2: How much GMAT is required for my profile to get into these schools? Query 3: Are 2 year IIM Programs more advisable for me and should I leave abroad colleges altogether. At the maximum, I can't wait more than 3 years of work-ex at the time of applying due to personal reasons. Please guide me🙏🙏🙏🙏

Time for the monthly hiring thread! Please mention the name of the company and role/functions that they’re hiring for Please post only roles you can verify are open - so we don’t waste anyone’s time If the company isn't well known, sharing some context might help

I myself am a Software dev with more than ten years of exp. I mentored a bunch of folks and was active in lot pf communities. I have been noticing this trend for more than couple of years about how freshers and developers with experience of less than two three years are aggressively looking to switch companies to target 30L or 50L or whatever they are currently looking for. But I feel this is really bad for future in terms of career growth. I am not against looking for the best offer, but I feel people recently don’t have any priority for career growth. I am trying to understand their perspective. I am not jealous of any of these. Heck I prefer that they get more, so that they have to increase my pay to keep up with current trends. It’s just when people ask me for career guidance I don’t want to sound like a jerk to prioritise good work over good pay. Can you guys share your inputs/perspectives?
