Hi all,

As the title suggests, I want to know if there are consequences associated with quitting a company in just 3 weeks.

I've joined an early stage startup as one of the first few hires in the product team. The pay and work is reasonably okay. WLB is also good. But one of the companies I was interviewing during my NP from called me back, conducted one more interview and now I have a better offer in hand. This new company is a fintech giant and objectively it makes no sense for me leave this offer. 

I'm stuck in a situation now where I'm getting super anxious to initiate this conversation with my current manager about leaving in just 3 weeks. Can someone help me with this? Please share your experiences if possible.

Have received an offer from a company and the joining date is in 3 days. However another company which is better has reached out and they have 3 rounds of interviews which I need to clear. 
Should I give a try for that company and ask them to schedule the interviews fast? If I get through in that org will it be okay if I say no to this company whose offer I already hold.

I wanted to know will I be grilled upon why I am leaving so early and will it affect my overall profile? Also what's the general notice period during probation?

So I left my job 2 months ago, the work culture and CTO was very very toxic, couldn’t handle it.

So I get offer from a startup, nice start up, good work culture, good learning. I joined this startup 15 days back. Now I got an offer from a established mid size company whose pay is 35-40% higher, it’s a substantial amount so I signed their offer letter. 

Now I wanna leave my current startup but I dont wanna burn bridges while leaving, I have a doubt that if things dont go well with the new offer, cause I left without serving notice period from the toxic one, so I have this paranoia that something might go wrong with the onboarding for the new offer. I dont wanna leave such that my current startup doesn’t even consider me for rejoining. 

I want a solid excuse for resigning, such that even if after 1 week I want to return to A, they would consider me! I am saying this because I worked my ass off for 3 months to get a job and I got a good start up, nowadays it’s hard to find decent workplace, don’t wanna end up with nothing if something goes wrong with the new one! 

HELP!! I was thinking about some family emergency so can’t continue, Any other solid reasons???

How common is probation in big tech firms or startups,
I am about to join a startup and they have probation of six months mentioned in offer letter, is it a red flag or is it pretty common.

During probation, they wont have any notice period.

I recently joined a company and it has been 1.5 months there and the total probation is for 3 months and the manager has made it clear to me in the starting that they can let me go off during probation anytime easily. But when I looked at the offer letter there was no provision for me to do the same.
My actual problem with this company is that they make you sit in the office and complete the general shift timing which is 9 hours.
Also there is an opening in Blinkit for sde1(android) on instahyre for which I want to apply as I am in love with their product and getting an opportunity to work for that product is like a dream for me.

So should I take this move and apply at other org and move from here during probation

Should I switch on probation?

I have 1.7 years of experience.
In the 1st company I worked  for 13 months and then I switched.
My 2nd company is the best company till now I have ever worked but unfortunately got laid off within 6 months.
Now I have recently joined a new organisation and it's been a month now but due to the toxic work culture and bad team I don't want to stay here.
The problem is that it's been only 1.7 years and now I am looking for the 4th organisation to switch.
Is that fine? And especially will it be easy for me to justify the new organisation for the frequent switch.

Want to understand the things to be wary of in probation? And how is it evaluated? What has to go wrong to get fired? Heard from a couple of folks it's nothing serious, but the way terms and conditions are defined for probation looks more like something to definitely keep in mind.

1. Never compromise on ds/algo practice and design. You should get time every week for this.
2. Never trust any company and don't settle
3. Company can replace you anytime. HR just need to float job and hundreds of applicant will apply whereas if you need to find a job you first have to grind LC and design and then you will get ready. This makes a uneven situation.
4. You are not replaceable for your family, friends and loved ones

Benefits of working in toxic or too much work environment
1. Learning
2. A little better payscale
3. Close peer group of colleague 

Cons 
1. You won't get time for practice your interview skills so you would have hard time cracking interviews
2. High pressure can leads to high stress that can lead to less growth in long run and burn out. Once you burn out, your Employer attitude may change
3. You would not have time for your friends and family. You may even lose your social circle. Whereas the colleague group that you would form would start to fade away once you leave that place.
4. It would form a unbalanced relationship where you are more dependent on your Employer and won't be able to do much even if you get less increment or other issues
5. You would not have time for investment or growing your wealth. Your long term wealth is not how much you earn it is how much you have(savings + growth on saving)

What to do if you feel you join such company
- find opportunities and get out in initial days or probation period. You can wipe out that experience from your resume
- Contact the companies you had offer from and ask them to reconsider if they can

What to do if you are stuck in such company
- do a little less work and start preparing. Once you are little confidence start doing lesser work and look for opportunities. At this point in time you don't have to fear them much. Firing is pretty common now 
- Be aware of your rights in worst case as per employment agreement

I received my offer letter two days ago, and i was assigned to quality assurance spc role. However, I'm not really interested in testing and my HR isn't replying when i asked for a role switch. My question is there any alternative way to switch to a developer role? 1. 6 months probation period.
2. 7 days notice period during probation.
3. 7 leaves during probation.
4. ESOPs will be given after 3 months of performance evaluation. 
5. No WFH (might get on situation basis), might need to work on Saturdays as well if required.

there are about 15 tech team members, they are in the growth phase right now.
