Is it just me or have the requests for product roles (PM, UI/Ux desiner etc) referrals increased a lot on LinkedIn recently. I have received almost 25 such request in the last 2 momths. Wanted to know is it because:
1. People more interested in these roles
2. Layoffs because of which people are switching
3. Lack of such roles in industry or
4. Ppl looking out for salary hikes

Hey there everyone, 

I hope you all are having a wonderful day.

I'll get straight to the point, I've been applying for jobs for last 3 months and i haven't got a single call back or interview calls from anywhere, I've applied to 100 of companies, from entry level job to mid senior level job, I've tried every job portal, I've tried getting referrals, hell I've sent 500+ cold emails, I've also tried tailoring my resume for the role.

Now a little bit about myself:


I'm currently working as a product analyst and have 3 YOE. I did my b.tech from tier 1 college and graduated in 2021.
Right after graduation i got a job with a decent package.

So considering my profile and YOE, it shouldn't be this hard tp get a job or even a call back!!

Can anyone tell me what am i doing wrong?, or anyone care to give any tips.

Ps: why the hell are companies asking for 5-6 YOE for an analyst profile??!!!

Quite a lot of employers are posting online claiming to be hiring, but candidates seem to be not getting any response after sending email/DM to that HR who posted. 
  
 I myself have applied to an entry level opening at a very well known and establish vehicles related product company. Literally entry level role with 6 months to 1.5yr YoE (I have 1YoE), yet I've not got any response. And they keep reposting the same opening over and over and over, to the point where I feel they are actually not hiring, but just updating their hiring work quotas as they were lazy AF HRs all through the FY23-24.

I am seeing a lot of layoff related posts everywhere from news articles to LinkedIn.. Is the Job market really that bad now? Or just the media is projecting that way? 

If it's really bad, which department you think is the most affected? How's layoffs specifically in India? Or is it layoffs in US but more hiring in India due to cost cutting? 

Are layoffs in technology/engineering dept as in for developers or some other departments? Your thoughts please..

It is really bad right now 
 1. Layoffs in many of the companies, irrespective of whether they're a startup or a big MnC. 
 2. Almost everyone I know of wants to switch, because of no/less appraisals from last 2 years 
 3. Bad work life balance - people thinks switching might help 
 4. Too much competition for any open position. Because of too much supply, companies are low-balling and people would accept the offer.  
  
 Recruiters ghosting is too common. Even if you've killed in your interviews and recruiters get someone who's ready to join on less pay, they'll simply ghost you.

Recently my company posted an opening for a PM job (5+yoe) on LinkedIn and i got final year engineering students from Tier 1/2/3 institutions in my DM asking for a referral for the job. 
I was like wtf at least first get 2-3 year of  any corporate experience and then think about moving to PM role. Why are freshers preparing for PM job out of a sudden

Me and my friends aren't even getting shortlisted for an interview.LinkedIn isn't working, direct referrals isn't working. After multiple rounds they just decide to go the other way. And this is happening with experienced talent. What the hell is happening!

Rant:What is up with hiring market for product!!! It's way worse than developers. I know that a general comparison scenario but past few months it's gone super downhill.

I want to understand (probably recruiters and folks who switch a lot can answer) if PM / SPM salaries have taken a hit due to so many layoffs, poor hikes, fear of losing job, etc. 
Want to know how much has it been impacted? And what is the new norm? Say for a PM / SPM with 4-6 years of experience, what should be the salary expectations now (vs 1.5 yrs before)?

Which companies are hiring for PMs currently?

Lately I am observing trend that product roles are going down, not many company believe in hiring product roles. At least small/mid startup wants CTPO roles and they want someone to play dual roles, primarily tech led products roles. Pure product roles is becoming lesser. Even few bigger MNCs have fewer products roles to offer. Is it just me? Or grapevine thinks same as well?

Hello! I am an entrepreneur who has 4+ years of relevant experience as a business analyst and of Product Manager. I am looking for a PM opportunity, as I could not scale my venture.

My experience was majorly focused in the growth domain with e-commerce and SaaS projects. I have completed a couple of PM courses to brush up my knowledge.

I have applied for 200+ companies in the past month, but did not hear back from anyone.

Is the slowdown getting over?

I myself am looking for product design roles. All I see on linkedin and other job portals is that companies only looking for Product Designer 2 candidates/mid-senior/lead designers.

Even if I see any PD1 role, they ask for minimum 1 year experience (internship experience no included). I don’t understand the rationale behind it.

Its getting tough now that I am looking for a job since 2 months and its tiring. 

Is there anyone who understands the current market trend and has an insight about when junior/entry level designers can expect jobs to reopen? Would love to get your speculations on the hiring scene of upcoming months.

Hardly getting any calls for PM roles. Is the market really cold? Or AI rejections are taking over potential interview callbacks?? I see a 10/10 match with my profile for a JD but eventually get rejection mail even for screening/shortlisting, I suspect AI rejection is taking over. Appreciate Any thoughts and tips in such frustrating times.
