An above average happy lifestyle (100K is what top earners maks there) with high QOL is still miles ahead of what one gets in India. This is the reason why folks immigrating abroad is at the highest right now. (If you look at students studying abroad + folks giving up Indian citizenship)

But isn't that a small percentage?
Would definitely choose average happy lifestyle in Europe, QOL is total shit in India

Ah.. the mandatory "life in US is difficult" post. These people continue to "struggle" knowing very well life in "India is better" ,but will not come back. Will form groups to pressure India to request US to speed up visa and green card timelines.
These people are the definition of hypocrisy.

We should encourage more people to go abroad. That way we can bring down other countries.
Also, good business for Indian houses.
Moved to NL 6 months ago, here’s my take:
- best advantage of moving abroad is the reality check of moving out of your echo chamber. You get a bit more perspective, no matter the country
- if you’re young and do not have other people depending on you, you should try living abroad for a while
- try to find a gig that relocates you, do not spend your own money to move abroad(education etc)
- if you’re around <5yoe you can still save equal or more than in India in EU, so not that bad a deal
- Europe is behind India when it comes to consumer software, if you want to stay at the cutting edge, move to USA or stay in India

Canada seems like a much worse case
Living expenses and prices similar to US but pay considerably lower
Atleast in EU the living expenses are lower than the US alongside the pay being lower than US
Plus healthcare and education being much more affordable
To me its like if you can suffer the high pressure of visa lottery and big student loans for the chance at making really huge money then go usa
Otherwise go to germany/sweden/etc.

Everyone moves into EU for QoL not 💰.
Social security and benefits comes at the cost of high taxation.
