Moving to Gurgaon from Bangalore
I recently got an offer and am planning to move to Gurgaon. I was trying to find an opportunity in Bangalore because I love this place, or maybe it’s just change I detest. But nothing worked out and here I am. Has anyone made the same move? Or maybe vice versa? Which place do you think is better and why?
Eh, as a Delhite, I didn't like Bangalore at all
I'm not sure about Gurgaon, tbh, but Delhi has got MUCH better roads, an actual proper public transport system and people who are actually nice to you? Like, I got back from Bangalore after 20 days and booked a cab from the airport to my home and the cabbie called and said "Madam, Mai khada hun idhar, koi na, aap aram se aao" and he said it so sweetly, I almost cried
Change us hard, you'll definitely have trouble adjusting, starting out from scratch at a new place is tough
There's nothing NCR doesn't have that Bangalore does, but I guess, you might miss the weather ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

+1 , Delhi is worth living in. Gurgaon not so much. Try finding a place in Delhi from where the commute is easier imo. Metro zindabad.
Nothing to miss in Bangalore except the weather.

Most of my North Indian collegeues always prefer Gurgaon office over South Indian cities as it is closer to their house.

Also traffic for all it's shortcomings isnt as shitty as Bangalore. Atleast there are roads in Gurgaon.
Gurgaon is nice. Even better if you like actual change of seasons than 1 weather all through the year.
But you will have to endure a toxic relationship (literally: pullution), for 3-4 months every year. That's the only reason I wouldn't want to move back, especially now that I have a kid.

why do you think blr is relatively less polluted ?

Yeah that's actually inaccurate. Bangalore greenery has been cut and encroached upon, lakes are dirty af except for a few, AQI is bad on most days and the construction related pollution is just cherry on top.

Enjoy a daily dose of cheap booze in gurgaon and buildings with good infrastructure but weather is shitty and people are not trustworthy. Majority of the office junta you will find leaving at 7 and from 8 pm they will drink.
Personally didn't like the vibe much and it is costly than Bangalore as food is not like delhi in gurgaon. Costs are very high. Rental deposit is 1-2 months that you might like but traffic , pollution , weather and vibe is a big downer.

+1. Not lived for a long time but same feedback I get from people who went from Blr to Ggn.
Ultimately, depends on stage of life and where you have a social system already setup. All are trade-offs beyond that
Weather <> Traffic
High Deposit <> Low Deposit
Techno <> Bollywood
Coffee <> Chai
Cops are lousy to outsiders everywhere. Speaking from experience in Delhi and Blr.
What is even “vibe”? I think people have started using this word like Squanchy uses squanch.

Gurgaon has surprisingly polite people, atleast in sector 24, and minimal electricity cuts as compared to HSR extension where every alternate day power cut, outside vegetarian food is also cheaper in gurgaon,
Note: I've grown up in Ahmedabad, and only lived in Bangalore for a month there are lot many things that I felt are worse in blr even compared to Ahmedabad.
BLR's only hyped up by corporate overloads vicious cycle.

Lived in Noida for a bit, the power cuts were horrible 😢. Everything else was 🤌
Never lived in noida, but from what the real estate troubles suggest, it was industrial land allocated near some canal, it doesn't have any soul per say,
