Recently being seen a bunch of people here taking a dig on people with high salaries. This is so counter productive. Rather than trying to learn from people who’ve been able to get a head start and getting it for yourself why are you resorting to hating on them? 

This is what is the difference between India and the west. The west is so fu##in capitalistic that people just understand and respect those that have money and everyone else is working hard to make it too.

I genuinely sometimes don't understand how influencers/content creators earn so much money and just spend on anything. It's too frustrating to see that you work your ass off everyday for 9-10 hours and get those weekends to chill and still can't save up enough money to go to Europe for 2 weeks. On the contrary, the influencers who don't have any fucking talent just do some random bs podcast, some clothing haul, some grwm and then go to a Taylor Swift concert and go to 5 countries in a year with the most luxurious stays. Is it just me or is it frustrating for everyone to see? They will meet any celebrity, buy the latest smartphone, have the best parties etc. It's like I want that life but I don't think I'll be able to ever get there.

Background: The upcoming movie "Stree 2" starcast had planned a show at Ambience Mall today at 6 pm. They did lots of videos and stories on Instagram (which were later deleted - fishy, in my opinion).

The show started at 5:30 pm, which was early according to Indian Standard Time /s. 
Every 15 minutes, the host would shout that the starcast was arriving any minute now. 
We had arrived at 5 pm and were waiting until 7:30 pm, still no one showed up. 
They passed the time by making the audience dance and sing, and they just kept at it till there was enough crowd.

Now angry, I spoke to an Ambience Mall staff member to ask if they were even coming. He said they would come at 8 pm. That was the scheduled time. Scheduled time? But all the ads and posts said 6 pm? He said, "Yeah, the events team needs that much time. This is how every celebrity event happens."

Maybe I'm new to this, but is this how celebrity events happen? People waste hours waiting to see their favorite actors or actresses? It's also the sunk cost fallacy. Like in my case, I had traveled 14 km to see them, now leaving without what I had come for would be a double loss.

Though this really pissed me off, because I didn't value my time well. 
These 3 hours could have been used for more productive work.

The starcast arrived at 8:05 pm and left at 8:25 pm. We waited 2 hours just to see them speak and dance for 20 minutes.

What is one of basic things you realised too late?

People don't talk to you when you are alone, they only talk to you when they are alone.

Before I start my ranting, I am happy for Anant getting married and having the fun of his life. I hope and pray for him to have a happy life. 

I have the following concerns 
1. Excessive media and PR coverage all events 
2. Deliberate flooding of content trying to set narratives for Anant’s generosity in building a zoo in a geographically irrelevant area and abusing animals by putting them in a zoo with adverse climate 
3. Excessive wedding events including Rihanna, beiber etc which could have a been private events 

This just makes me wonder, if this is the beginning of the fall of Mukesh Ambani. In south India, showing off wealth in a very abrasive public manner is considered to bring ill will and downfall. 

I wonder why the wedding couldn’t have been a private event for all their invitees. I don’t intend to morally police or demean their celebrations. 

Anyways, maybe I’m just too poor to comprehend the richest man of India.

As someone with 50% of their career in fashion, I can say it's not just modeling (that's the image people have). There are many industries within fashion – e-commerce, manufacturing, modeling, boutiques, etc

Fashion is labor-intensive, so competition drives down pay. Yes, there are more women in fashion, not necessarily earning more. It's a loop – more women want to work where other women are, even if the money is less. There's a sense of security and comfort.

A huge part of fashion works in manufacturing, you know, the clothes we wear. 
So many women work at the junior level, running around the factory floors getting things done. They are paid 10-15k a month. The men are paid about 20-25k starting salary. 
I had 3 girls and 1 boy in my team; they managed on-ground ops for different brands. 
But when there's night overtime in the factory, who stays late to oversee the work? The boy! 
And who got the orders out "working overtime" on these brands – the boy! 
Who deserves a raise – obviously the boy! 

Lack of appreciation in words and money, physically draining work (more stories there), fewer promotions, and male-dominated labor that doesn't want to "listen to women," combined with family pressure to get married - all these lead women to drop out of the workforce.

Even if you want to talk only about modeling, women models get paid more than male models. 
There's a reason here – who do you remember watching on FTV during childhood? How many of you took the risk of putting FTV on to watch male models? 
Women are paid more because they sell more. 

Also, the models are just one, just one part of the fashion show. There's an entire team of underpaid people running around, fixing things last minute, ensuring the show is a success. 
Huge brands like Sabyasachi and Manish Malhotra pay 25-30k to NIFT Fashion Design grads, even in Mumbai.

I don't know about you guys, but Marine Drive on weekends has become a whole new battlefield. I was out there recently, and it felt like I was dodging reels, not people. Every few steps, there’s a group of chapris making Instagram reels, blocking the walkway. It's getting out of hand, can't even walk in peace anymore.

Sure, it's a public space, and everyone has the right to do their thing. But when it starts affecting others’ ability to enjoy a simple walk by the sea, that's when it gets frustrating. Maybe the police should start cracking down on these folks the same way they handle reckless driving incidents. It's turning into a circus out there!

I get it, the internet has opened up opportunities for a lot of people, but when it starts feeling like you're walking through a production set on your Sunday stroll, something's gotta give.

How come the death of Ratan Tata is something that so many people are paying enormous attention to? He was born into a wealthy family. For him, acquiring companies is like buying lollipops since he has his family’s money. He pays his employees (TCS) pennies and working conditions are shit. Philanthropy is a cakewalk for generationally wealthy families who anyway practice philanthropy in exchange for fame and goodwill of society (there is no such thing as no-strings-attached philanthropy)

I don’t even consume Tata Salt.

Why are you vehemently celebrating someone who is not even a self made entrepreneur/industrialist?  It is like celebrating/recognising the death of the son of a Rothschild or a Carnegie.
