Need career advice
I am planning to shut down my IT services company after 5 years of operations. The journey has been bitter-sweet but it is becoming unsustainable and putting me under a great amount of duress. I have been a trained ML engineer but since my startup have gone on to taking up mostly non-programming roles/ work. I have tried getting back to development role but have not been able to get back in the same stride as I used to. Lately, I’ve been picking up some consulting work as a Software Architect. Basis, that info, need some advice on how I can plan my professional journey ahead.

The company is still operational, but it’s likely that we’ll have to shut down operations in the next 3-4 months if our sales efforts do not pan out as planned.
- Some old/ initial projects (taken up during peak covid) were taken up on low costs, had some estimation issues, eventually costed huge to the company.
- irregular sales cycle
- irregular revenue realisation from customers

We have done some very good work with both Indian and international clients. It’s just a number of things have pulled us down and we have tried to claw back our way but things keep dragging.
Both I and my cofounder has put in heart, soul, personal lives and money on the line and but if it’s not panning out the way it’s supposed to, it’s better to quit whilst not being under undue liabilities.
