Non-Engineer in Product Management
A non-engineer with 0 workex; will join my MBA second year at an old IIM in June. Have done a couple of internships, I want to get into product management. How difficult is it for a non-engineer? How do I go about it? š

Almost zero chance.
Freshers only got shortlists if they came from CS background from top engg colleges or had technical projects/internships to make up for the experience.

Even though I don't get it through campus placements what about after that? How can the non engineer con be covered up?

You can try. However, it is becoming very very difficult to get a product role off campus.
I would really suggest you to take the best job that you can get in the campus right now seeing the current job market. In future, you can shift internally or somehow get something externally

I think you should first ādefineā why u want to be in product management. Second, try building something with no-code tools, maybe just imitate something built already and define your learnings. Explore āfree product casebooksā available at most of old IIMs, practice the problems with your mates.
I donāt see a reason for you not able to crack product interviews. Take risks and work hard, hopefully markets will be back by next year.
