The bubble seems to be bursting but will love you know the thoughts of tech people.

I recently got laid off and then joined a US based startup for 35L comp (all fixed) 

The interview for associate position in GS has been happening from more than a month and i just have the hiring manager round left. So I am expecting an offer

How much can I expect for this level at goldman sachs? Can I quote 45L fixed and negotiate from there? Also is it a good thing to join goldman sachs leaving a well funded US Based series B startup?

Im from a tier 3 univ and only worked in startups so i guess this will also give me a good title on my resume

I have 20 years in IT, working as a Backend Server Side professional. My skill sets are in Java, Spring, Spring Boot, worked in Apache Kafka, ELK stack too. I had been laid off in January 2023, after that been doing some freelance, contract jobs just to get along. But it is becoming really hard to get a permanent one. Apart from the product managers, do the MNCs pay high for any MBA roles? Where can someone with 7-10yrs of post MBA experience be making 1.5Cr cash? 

Indian conglomerates do pay good, but that's post a 20yr career with them. Do the SAP, Salesforce, Bosch and other tech MNCs pay top dollar for non technical folks here?

I am also not considering the heads of ODCs here who lead the delivery of the software centers. Non tech MNCs like the FMCG cos, or consulting are anyway a top recruiter at MBA colleges and well known about their comp. I am looking for other industries/ companies that pay well

29M , 7 yoe. Have a full time job plus running my own freelancing gig servicing multiple clients across the world

Not a techie. Earning 1.75cr a year AMA

Saw this on Twitter today. Tech Mahindra hiring graduates for 3.25 LPA and 24*7 Shift timing. I talked to various people to get an idea of their pay. 
A) A plumber lives near my house. He said he earns 2-3k daily and works for 20-25 days average. He earns 50-60k per month. 
B) Electrician earns in the same range. 

And other technicians and workers like this who are skilled earn a lot more than a software engineer. 
This is the hard reality. Students study for 16 years and pay 15-20 lacs college fees for this.

Plumbers, Electricians earn more than an average engineer.

Welcome to the real world! 
  
 At the same time, you should know electricians/plumbers add more value to the society than a “fresher” TechM shift employee. If you’ve paid college fee that should not entitle you for a high-paying job. It’s just a privilege.  
  
 Sooner you realise this, better it would be.

I've recently got an offer from a Unicorn Startup, and they pay pretty well (My friends do work there) 
But I'm getting lowballed. They're offering only 50% of what they offer, and even after having so many calls, they're at max pushing it to 70%, which doesn't make sense to me. 
They are claiming my Current CTC & saying they can only offer a 30% hike. I don't even get that point. 
 I think ur new CTC shouldn't be based on your previous especially if you are already paying so much to others. Getting less than what my juniors are earning in the same position, baffles me. 

How do I move forward? I've clearly said that I'm only interested in this amount of money. At the same time, I feel it's better than what I make right now (not much better tho, because WFH vs WFO) I'm okayishhh with the work I do, but the brand name is also a valid concern (I do have a few brand names in my Resume, and that does actually impact) 

How do I push more? 
I've clearly told them that this is what you pay & they accept it but constantly raise my Current CTC as their brahmastra. Also, I don't like the tone she's talking with (repeatitvely making me feel inferior about current CTC & my less exp & all),  nor do I want to lose my temperament

Also one question, they've asked me for the Offer letter, and I have stupidly handed it to them. Is that a norm? What to do in that case next time? 
I already told them before interviewing how much base I'm expecting.. And they said it would depend on your interviews (where I'm a strong hire) & CTC. And now they're behaving weirdly.

I am software engineer with 2 years of experience. I am not from NIT IIT no MBA no Mtech. I have seen a culture where talent guy from lower college background get paid less than the industry standard.
I have no money to go for higher studies can’t take the risk that can hang my live to nowhere. 
So Is there any way to earn more without being from IIT NIT Mtech MBA?
