Not sure how many anime fans are here, but I was recently watching this new anime called “Zom 100: Bucket List of the Dead”, which basically shows how a corporate employee is so fed up with his messed up job, that the first thought he has, when zombie apocalypse hits is, “I don’t have to go to work anymore!”, and he’s out to do things that he always wanted to.

Anyways, in the new episode, its shown how a toxic leader/boss/senior behaves. And man, was that so accurate!! 

It shows how these leaders make you work like hell, belittle you, and misbehave with you. Even if you think of leaving the job, they make you believe how hard it is to survive without your current job, and how the work you’re doing is nothing, and that you can be easily replaced. 

And in the end, after fucking up your mental peace, they will come and show a little bit of sympathy, telling they how they just push you for your own sake. Acting like some wise old “mentor you never had”.

And you know, what the worst part is, since all your colleagues are living in the same environment, since everyday you go through the same toxicity over n over, it becomes normal for u. Your brain adjusts, and it seems to think that this is how the world is. 

Moreover, if you are a fresher, and you don’t have any prior experience of work culture, you seem to believe thats how work life is, and will always be. 

I’m ranting this out, since i wasted around 1-1.5 years of my life in such startup, and it wasn’t just the time that was wasted, it also took my passion, my energy, my motivation and my goal with it. 

To all the folks who might be in a similar situation, I just want to say, I know it’s hard and I know you probably can’t leave due to some financial situations or other issues. But BELIEVE ME when i say that nothing in this entire world comes above your mental health. Save that first folks. Be selfish, saving others can wait!

Always had a fascination for flying objects as a kid. 

If this held true, I would really love to work in the aerospace domain. Building insane drones or UAVs would be awesome, especially after a decent stint in software.

Was reading about this company called Zipline which works in autonomous aerial delivery. Quite insane how they supply medical supplies in Rwanda using gliding drones that are launched across the country.

Stories like these inspire an entire generation to take up engineering and change the world.

What about you all?

To the married folks, would it be different if you would have married later in life? From a personal or objective POV, what’s your take

32+ M here and not yet married.

Got married at  26.  If i get  a time machine, will do it by 24.    There is a quote by ashneer, where he says, 30's are the most important time is building one's career and setting the foundation to make money. Distractions from family life/kids will kill both the careers and family. I think he made perfect sense.  

I think the older one gets, its difficult to have compatibility.  Too many external stimulus corrupts our view of the society. And more over everything has a purpose and we all come with a shelf life.  If chances of starting a family  is slim or nil, whats the point in getting married? one is better of single.

My parents immigrated from Bangladesh and like a lot of other immigrant families, I was raised in a household that put a huge weight on education. (not knocking my parents at all, they went through a ton of suffering and put in a lot of work to allow me to get to where I am today)

Growing up I was always told that I'd have to go to a top college and I guess that idea just embedded itself so deep into my head. I ended up getting into some top tier foreign universities and really good courses but just couldn't afford them and turned them down for a shitty private college.

By all other metrics my life is great. Met an amazing group of friends through my college, and have been had a shit ton of fun at college, college is easy so I never went to class and can just travel. But every single time a doctor, family friend, etc. asks what school I go to I feel so much shame it's crazy. How do I fix this?
