So one of the Dunzo co-founders has enough money from salary and secondaries to angel invest in the last few months, but employees have not been paid salaries and neither has Dunzo deposited PF and TDS, which is a criminal offence.

Status driven, low confident CEO who thinks that a CEO should dress like a movie CEO aka wearing suits all the time and thinks that watching sports makes you cool. Super micro-manager. This idiot gifted a basketball to CPO on CPO's 5th work anniversary. Will make random suggestions to the product team based on absolute random assumptions. This guy has more chances of death by confirmation bias than anything else in the world. Lack of clarity and vision for the company. Low trust in people who he works with.

I saw her only once in the office since I joined the company in my 14 months of tenure, people say she is working from home but all the employees are forced to come to the office and work.

This guy will never say no to any product/feature requirement and commit an optimistic timeline of delivery without thinking or syncing with the team internally. Due to him I lost respect for MBA turned managers who think they can do it all. Will never accept he was wrong or take one for the team. Will shit on others to retain you. Will make team members fight among themselves. Will say that you are the owner of the product/project/task/charter given to you but will make sure to overturn decisions made independently by you. This guy always assumes that he is right without thinking through. He does not even understand what all problems we face at the  layer. Has world class expectations but with peanut salary. This douche bag stole my ideas and presented it to his ideas. Had to forcefully schedule 1-1's with him to get feedback on my performance, that too was very generic and had a few points where I made mistakes but no actionable point of how that area can be improved. At CPO level I expect you to have basic product design sense and when I describe the screen roughly you should be able to imagine it but this A-hole will always stress on a proper product design with all the color and all and not even a wireframe.

I work at a startup. And It’s super funny but I think my boss is moonlighting. Here are the facts: 

- he’s hardly focused 
- he’s hardly trying to expand her role at work 
- he’s regularly on external calls taken secretly 
- he doesn’t care to understand what’s going on in other parts of our company

My boss is likely moonlighting

Why is moonlighting unethical? Let’s keep legality aside for a minute although it is not illegal. 
 Your senior leaders are directors at multiple companies. 
 CEO of startups like Lenskart, shadi etc are sitting on TV for personal investments which they will make money of and spending hours in shooting. Those same CEOs layoff as per their whims and fancies. 
 But when a lowly employee with a meagre salary tries to increase his/her earning potential, this crab mentality kicks in and it becomes unethical. 
  
 A person can be too good to handle both(or more) jobs superbly. However, if there are performance issues, you deal with that as an employer. It’s not like people working on a single job don’t underperform. 
  
 Also, there are 24 hours in a day and I am “supposed “ to work for 8 hours. Mathematically, a person can work 3 jobs in a day (and try to sleep at work). 
  
 We all rooted for Will Smith in the “Pursuit of Happiness “.

5. setting up shell companies for hiring

Make this list more exhaustive. 

I want to say to these founders : bhai kisko chutiya bana rahe ho... And after all this, they have galls to become Gyan chodeswar on LinkedIn, podcasts etc.

A company called loop health started allowing remote work and hiring in early 2022 soon after receiving $25 million dollars investment. 
Founders are a great pair in the initial but as soon after investment of series A , difference broke out and one of the co-founders left the company in the name of sabbatical from backdoor out. He was visionary and had great product sense which the CEO got jealous of and stopped him at all the cost of investors recognising him. Anyway now the real unhealthy thing is not this story but due to this product the scope got messed up and customers started complaining and renewals badly hit to 60-80%. The competitor got them easily , one of the sales people said on call at a loop that loop company customers are easy to catch for competitors.
Now the real story is, the CEO wanted only the Pune office to survive and all remote employees to leave so he did a little magic ✨. Instead of laying off people, strategically not compensating anyone started layoff from the beginning of the 2023 this year by asking each outsider to resign and leave. The strategy was simple, 
Find weakness and make them accept simple mistakes as well and ask them to resign. At the same time, hire contractors at Pune to join and work. If any employee is strong or doesn't want to leave then make them contract employees and expect work in the same way.
This is not at all acceptable and the CEO is not alone on this. CEO, CTO , CPO involved plan. 
The problem with this approach is unfair practices, if someone makes a mistake they won't give any PIP plan. They just fire them in easy  ways to resign. CEO proudly says he wants great tennis 🎾 team but infact ceo is just a ball boy.

Monday morning and nobody at office. We have no option but to force strict rules now: 

1. If you arrive any later than 9:55 in office, it will be marked as half day leave. 

2. Lunch breaks are supposed to be max 40 mins long. I accept basic courtesy of following this, if not, I’ll tag people on the group. 

3. All leaves requests need to be emailed to me. Without any record on email, we might not be able give a record of how many leaves in each bracket are left for each individual. So don’t expect this data from us, if you don’t email.

Recently saw a post where a girl who’s started working got fired from her job due to some drama between her and the a RW mob on X and they kept tagging the company and forced her to be terminated. Haven’t really dived deep to check what the actual matter is but my point here is that should companies take action against employees for what they do on social media which doesn’t really involve the company.

Are there laws regarding this or anything mentioned when we join a company and does this set a bad precedent which jeopardises free speech ?

Should Employees be punished for what they post on social media ?

Some people raised question about Ethics, Right or Wrong my answer to all those who talk about Ethics & Moral Science here is my take on this.

1. When a company fires without giving a notice is there any ETHICS AND MORAL SCIENCE behind that.
2. When CEOs of companies appear in Shark Tank are they not moonlighting by making secondary income
3. When CEOs of startup run Youtube channel are they not moonlighting.
4. When CEOs of startup doing angel investing to get massive returns are they not moonlighting.
5. When So called EDUCATORS teaching on edtech platforms while doing job and making money ARE THEY NOT MOONLIGHTING.
6. When cricketers are playing for INDIA and simultaneously building business ARE THEY NOT MOONLIGHTING.


EVERYONE IS MOONLIGHTING and giving the label as per their conveinence so if you also want to moonlight don't think about ethics think about your future and securing your future.

I mean I get where he's coming from. I have seen those *day in the life of a ___* videos and always wondered what work do these people even do?
But isn't he also responsible for over hiring? That too for an industry that works on thin margins.

We all have heard about the toxic culture of Edtech. Unacademy is now in the top spot when it comes to companies with toxic culture. Any company cannot be more cruel than this:

1. Abusive language by leaders - COO, CBOs, SVP, VP and other leaders treat employees as slaves. They themselves have made huge lossess and are burning investors money but when any employee voice out their opinion/asks for leaves, the leaders abuse employees badly even in front of other stakeholders.

2. Forceful long working hours -
Even if you complete your work in 8-9 hours, you are forced to sit for 11-12 hours just to show the founders.
People hardly work after certain hours but they just have to sit and waste their time. This is tiring and there is no work life balance. No time to spend with family. I hardly get chance to spen time with child. 

3. Late night reviews -
So the company has started this new way of conducting monthly reviews late in the night. People are asked to sit till 2-3 AM for reviews. And this review is nothing but a setup where COO abuses the employees.

4. Forced paycuts -
We have seen a forced paycut for the leaders (VP, SVP, Directors etc). 'No appraisal' was still somehow digestable but how can a company justify the degrowth in the earnings of their employees. Company has money to sponsor TVF web series (Sandeep Bhaiya), invite Standup comedians (Biswa and Prashasti), distribute pizzas to all the employees but when someone voices out for paycuts, they don't have money. 

5. No Flexibility In Working
The company witnessed its highest growth and revenue when 100% of the employees were working from home but now the founders think that people do not work from home so they have called everyone to work from office for 6 days a week. If someone asks for a work from home, the leaders denies or ask to apply leave to work from home.
Be it rains, election, etc - we are asked to work from office. Even during the day of election in Karnataka we were called in the office.
