Both of them are right. You are paying too much, but finding a place is tough currently.  
 If you can then search for more places.  
  
 IMO, rents won’t decrease but also won’t increase dramatically anymore. However if you don’t find anything then prepare to wait for at least an year or more to start finding affordable homes. Especially given that lot of properties should finish constructions around 2024-2025.

Why not look for flatmates and share an apartment? You will get better amenities at same price.

It's difficult to find good 1BHK apartments in Bangalore. You can get 2BHK in a gated society and can share it with someone. That could be a better deal. 18K is not bad for a 1BHK if they have power backup, lift, security and proper waste management.

How big is the place? For a non gated society, ideally you should not be paying above 20/sqft

I found a place which is 2.6km away from Bagmane T Constellation Business Park (where my office is) and the rent is 18k including maintenance for a 1BHK, deposit is 3 months pay.

It’s not in a gated society, so no gym, pool etc but has power backup. 

Is it a good deal or is it too much? The reason why I am am confused is because some of my friends are saying that I am paying too much while some are saying that there is a shortage of places to stay, so it’s good.

Recently my friends moved to 4 BHK apartment near Domlur. The total rent is coming to 1 Lakh for unfurnished apartment, it has some really good amenities.

All 3 of them have offices nearby, and I work remotely for a US startup. After, furnishing and one time setup, just rent is coming to 32k. I am unsure, whether moving there would be worth it or not for me.

I really enjoy company of my friends, but the rent for me is expensive + 6 months deposit. I can definitely afford to pay that much rent, but not sure whether it’ll be good decision or not because of market conditions and tons of uncertainties. I cannot back out if I say yes.

I am super confused, one side I want to stay with friends and on other side rent and deposit is worrying me.

Is it worth it to pay 32k in rent for a room in bangalore if you work remotely ?

One of the reson for increase in rent especially in Bangalore is these early 20s bachelors earning min 20 to 30LPA, who think when splitted rent into 2 to 3 flatmates it will be less than 30K. They don't know the struggle once they get married and is a single earner in the family.

😅 Owner increased the rent by 15k to meet the market. They expect bachelor's to pay up or exit. 55k is the new price for 3bhk in a 15 year old society. When will the bubble burst? Is everyone making 40-50 lakhs?

The total rent is 1L, and we are looking for a flatmate to take the room with an unattached but personal washroom.

Rental situation in BLR

Understanding what is the going rent for a 2BHK in Bangalore close to ORR. 

Used to work from home happily. But office folks decided to make it hybrid last year and I moved to Bangalore with my wife. Rented a 2BHK flat near Marathahalli for 30k (Rent+Maintanence). Now that the 11 month contract is over, the owner is asking for 36K even though the rental agreement says 5% increase an year.

What are you guys paying as rent? And is it common in Bangalore to increase rents by 20% year or year which seems really crazy.

I'm not able to wrap my head around the pace at which rents increase in Bangalore. 

We moved here about a year ago and rented a 2 BHK semi-furnished apartment with basic amenities for 28k plus maintenance charges. The rent agreement said there would be a 10% increase after one year. Even though it was a bit over our budget, we decided to go for it. 

Now, a year has passed and we've settled in, but the owner is suddenly saying he's canceling the previous agreement and starting a new one with a rent of 38k plus maintenance. And he told us this only 15 days before! This new amount feels way too high for our apartment. We're thinking about moving out, but then again the trouble of finding another place and shifting all our stuff in short period is making me anxious. 
We are not able to decide on what to do. Is this normal here? Any advice?

People laughed at me when I asked for decent living spaces below 10k at these locations. It took 2 days, i went for a walk in the streets of Koramangala and HSR layout. And found multiple 1rk's less than 8k and multiple 1bhk's less than 12k. There are a lot of furnished 1bhk apartments with rent ranging from 15k to 18k. To all the people who are new to Bangalore, don't fall prey for hefty rents, do roam in and around the surroundings.. you will find good places within the budget. Surprisingly there are plenty of vacant spaces and soon the prices will come down.

Hey Mumbaikars, I'm relocating to Mumbai this December. I wanted to understand the housing scenario there. 
I'm looking for a budget, 1 or 2 bhk to be shared by 2 to 3 people. It should have min amenities like a fridge and a washing machine. It's better if it's in a gated society. Max budget for total rent for the flat/apartment is 12k to 15k. 
Need your advice on if I should get my place near the office for a slightly higher price or should I go for a cheaper place slightly far from the office. My office is in Chirak Nagar, Thane.
