PIP then laid off, again laid off

I used to work in a start up in Bangalore, they overhired in 2022 and overpaid the freshers, more than the experienced engineers were getting paid. To fix this put 30% of workforce on pip, laid off 20% I was one of them. 2 months later, they did open layoffs, did it again in 2 months, and one of my friends there heard the founders cracking a laugh that even the investors wouldn't have expected us to do this so fast. I joined another company, they lost the client I was hired for, and few more clients, I was told they will have to do layoffs and my name is in the list. So they asked me to resign and I refused by saying we'll consider a last working day, if I get an offer I'll resign otherwise anyway I'll have to be laid off and they agreed. This happened one month after I had joined this company ( also a startup ). So, being laid off once was already a big enough punch of reality, with an education loan on my head. I joined another company and got laid off again. Tough shit. I ended up getting an offer before my lwd. I am not from any IIT, I am not an exceptional engineer. I am very bad interviews, my resume usually doesn't get shortlisted. Sheer volume of effort I put made the impact on me getting a job. Right now I am the best job of my career, with a better management. Trying to say, it's a tough time. But you'll get through it.

Startup let go Eng team on 1 day notice

It's gonna be long thread. I have been working as lead engineer in a early stage startup since last one year. Founder (20 years exp in Product Management) raised some money from friends & family to start it and but company was running negative from February and he put his money to pay employees salary for March & April and We were hoping for some investment in April but that didn't happen. During May & June, he was looking for funding more aggressively and even after having a good background in academics & top tech work experience in product management, no investor got convinced to invest in it. Our salary for March & April was delayed from actual payroll date by 7 days and 21 days respectively and We were expecting our May salary to be delayed by same period and our company was about to complete one year in first week of July so we had some one year benefits associated as well. But Boom, he invited everyone on call and tells that company will shutting it's operation from next day itself. And he will help us find our new jobs and he doesn't any clarity on pending salary. Although we knew, our company is not in good shape so salary cut or something might be happening soon but didn't expect this. Now, we have to find other jobs and also be unemployed while searching for job and also get exploited by other companies because we will be desperate to find jobs to pay our bills. I think, he did this just before 5-6 days of our one year anniversary just because he doesn't get legally bound to pay our one year benefits. I for sure, not gonna join any early stage in future who doesn't have enough funding. Just wanted to put this story out of my mind. Open for any suggestions you have for me Thank you

Feeling like I lost in life

I am a 25 yr old male and I come from a very small town in Jharkhand. My dad was a mechanic. I am their only son. I graduated from a tier 3 college where getting any job was a dream. I worked hard and cleared a 9 LPA job in Pune. Got promoted and got hikes and came to around 13 LPA in around a yearā€™s time. Resigned it for Amazon, BLR at 30 LPA. I joined in Oct 22 and got laid off in Jan 23. When I cleared Amazon, it was moment of pride for me and my parents. For the first time everything looked well and life felt happy and promising. It was just perfect. After the layoff, life has been full of struggle. It was so difficult to get a job. Somehow got a decent company who would at least hire me without reducing my pay, but had to deal with a pathetic manager, and the culture wasnā€™t too good. Joined here for ~34 LPA I finished 1 year in this company this April and I started to interview. Started with a startup, they said they canā€™t offer that much. Next was MSFT. They took 8 ROUNDS for a SE2 role and they offered me a L60 role and wonā€™t budge at all, for a lower comp. I had to reject. In the meantime, I had already cleared Intuit at 50 LPA and DE Shaw at around 60 LPA. DE Shaw HM told me this role is SDET which the recruiter didnā€™t mention. Had to reject there. I resigned after I cleared Intuit and expected MSFT to give me an offer and I was sure that whatever comp theyā€™ll offer Iā€™ll take, but didnā€™t expect them to give me L60 and a comp around 29 LPA. When Intuitā€™s joining came close I considered taking my resignation back but my manger bullied me and didnā€™t take my resignation back. I got a chance to interview with Apple. It was so close to Intuitā€™s joining date that I asked Intuit to push it by 3 weeks. After 5 rounds, Apple said they canā€™t go ahead with my profile because of less experience. Folks trust me: All my interviews at MSFT and Apple went very very well. When I made up my mind to join Intuit, they announced lay offs. My only option is to join.
