Resigned without job offer
Huh! So i resigned from my job without any job offer. I am not sure if this is right/wrong, dumb decision maybe but i was at my saturation point. I joined this organisation as APM in April 2024 and resigned in September end, almost a 6 months of journey. This was a fast faced startup with a lot of micromanagement and toxicity. My manager was an asshole. There was a time when i was filling time sheets which was just to justify my manager. Imagine a product manager filling time sheet who is already involved in multiple small and large discussion with tech,qa, marketing, operations etc. The shift was of 9 hours and he asks me to stretch to 10 hrs sometimes as he as a bad habbit of same. There is much more. One day due to an instance i decided to resign without any job offer. My family did supported me which also gave me the confidence to do so. I don’t know what to say to next companies. When will I get a new job. Just wanted to share this somewhere and thought of putting it up here. Open for all your thoughts and comments. Also,Let me know if anybody could help me in any referrals😅preferably in Delhi ncr- Hybrid/wfh.
Same situation here. Currently at a fast paced startup. Had a job offer that these guys beat to get me to join. First 2 months were amazing, extremely supportive team. After the honeymoon period, the horrors began. I now work over 14 hours a day. No weekends off. No paid holidays, no public holidays, expected to be available 24/7/365. No annual hikes. Constantly micromanaged by founder. I am doing the work of 3 FTE. Yesterday I was asked to do presales management role for a channel partner. I voiced my concern over how one person could possibly do this much work on a sustainable basis. Boss said time management is the problem here. Don’t see it as market research, see it as googling. Other bosses, read cofounders are extremely toxic and abusive. Once when I expressed my exhaustion after a 16 hour shift, one cofounder said “work Sundays”. Looking for urgent job change
Can totally relate with you, coz I'm in a similar situation. Irony is I joined as Product analyst in my current org(dm for name) and my manager is judging on my APM skill, ofcourse i want to learn product skills, but at what cost, if I come with some approach, he'll tell his own, and reject mine, if I'll ask him some doubt about prd making, will say learn first then come, and banda YouTube Insta scroll karta rahega. Usse free hogaya to he'll keep looking on my laptop, and seat se utho to he'll ask everytime kaha jaara. Will make me leave only after he has left the office. Will flex his life, but will definitely ruin my work-life balance. These thoughts are ruining my mental peace so well that I'm not able to sleep properly. Discussed with parents they too support leaving such an organisation, and I'm sure as well I want to leave. Writing this in this thread helped me atleast put these thoughts out of my mind.
