Salary Analysis & Negotiation

Have more than 5 years of experience working for a consulting MNC, a SaaS startup and a medium-sized consulting company. Over the years have gotten the opportunity to work as a frontend engineer(angular, react), a fullstack engineer(java, javascript/typescript, python) and currently a data engineer(pyspark/databricks, azure, gcp). Projecting my self as a fullstack/backend engineer only. What should be my fair salary ask in series A/B/C startups & other product companies? I believe many of people in here will be in the same boat as me, so please put down your thoughts…!

I see a lot of people think here that a 3-5 year experience candidate has a right to demand 40-50 lakhs pay. Is it really the trend now? Am I unaware? I see pay range in 6figr & other websites but don't see the pay scale of 40-50 very often except for full funded startups, MBBs. What is the reality of pay range by professions for exp 3-5 years?

I have spent equal amount of time in MNC and startup facing high salary growths and layoffs. I am currently at 31 LPA in an MNC using all highly demanding tech stack and enjoying what I do. I need help understanding if 31 LPA fixed + (2.5 lpa variable extra) is a right as per standards both ways either underpaid or overpaid. I am more comfortable in an MNC and wanted to get more insights before making a switch.

What is criteria of underpaid/ overpaid? Don't say market standards 😒 I have known people who are skilled and not getting even standard money

I have about 5 YOE and looking for a job change. While I received so many calls from startups for SSE backend roles. During initial discussions I often let the HR know that I am earning 28 lakhs as CTC and I ask for 40 lakhs CTC, they say that they will get back to me but they never do so. Am I doing something wrong? Am I asking for too much. Should I wait for the market to get back to normal? PS: I definitely have the major set of skills they are expecting for the job role.

Hi, i am senior developer with 30 LPA, i am planing to switch as work is not exciting anymore what should be my realistic expectations? I have read post where people with same yoe get more money and other post where people get less money with same yoe.

Am I being overpaid? I am a backend engineer with 7 years of experience. I've been rejected by multiple organizations during salary discussions. They mentioned they can't provide such a high salary. Grapevine has become like the epitome of people flaunting unrealistic salaries ( the bubble will soon break )🤐,So thought of why not post some realistic ones based upon the Y.o.E range for the IT folks from our knowledge and our interactions with our friends and colleagues. We can exclude very niche skills here and see where everyone stands. I can begin. ( Have considered just the base pay and not the variable or esops/rsu here ) 1-4 Y.o.E : 4-8 Lacs 5-8 Y.o.E : 9-20 Lacs 9-12 Y.o.E : 21-35/40 Lacs 13-16 Y.o.E : 35/40-50+ Lacs

So I am looking out for a new role and the final round of the interview is done. I am now at the negotiation stage where I do not want to quote a number but want to know the current "Market standard" Job : Frontend/iOS engineer YOE : 5, worked in good product companies throughout The HR person also mentioned that they can pay as much as Adobe salaries. Numbers, anyone?
