Seeking Advice: Transitioning from Support Role to Java Development after 2 Years at Wipro

After 2 years at Wipro in a support role, I've self-taught Java Spring Boot, Hibernate, and basic frontend skills, with good knowledge of DSA. However, I lack hands-on experience in real-time Java projects at my current company. What steps should I take to transition into a Java development role at another company?

Google few Java experience people resume. Go thru the details in their resume and try to understand their roles and responsibilities. No interviewer will be expecting too much practical knowledge from you(2-3 yearsexperience). Have your basics correct. Never fake out and say you did end to end activities.. always add that there was a team lead under his/her guidance we all fresher were asked to work. Talk to your friendly seniors and ask them what kind of real life issues they get in code and what is their approach in troubleshooting them. Try to note down the good points on a paper for your interview preparation and give 1-2 more interview with your friend/ family or in front of a mirror. Stick to your resume and fundamentals. Important thing is even if you will be working in JAVA profile but rarely you will be using all the concepts. Companies do have their own inbuilt libraries/packages. So focus on you fundamentals than going into too much advanced concepts. Your positive attitude towards interview will get to a job soon. Good luck 👍
