I am working in production support for one of the biggest custodian banks.
I just joined in Jan as an intern global campus hire, converted in June ending as full time. My salary is around 12 lakhs with 78K monthly cash in hand.

My father insisted that I join the family business , he is against my job.
We are earning around 1.5-2 lakhs in the family business in Surat, Gujarat. My father is seeing a good chance of business expansion in the future if I join.

I feel I can make my future in the finance industry by pursuing CFA and getting the required switch.
What should I do

Hey! A bit background about me, 2023 grad, cs @ tier 1 university, currently at SDE role earning ~1.5L. I do have a decent network, good communication skills (sab to bolte hai), good drive ig. I’m also good at CS and probably can get good offers and good growth (high rating on codeforces). I was always aligned with entrepreneurship and I definitely don’t see myself working at a job after ~7-8yrs 

My father wants me to join the family business in the next year, I can prolly make 10x within months and will be having full ownership later, might be able to grow much more later.

Simply it seems like joining is the obvious choice, but that means sacrificing my whole career that could have been different, smart friend group, and other pros.
Honestly passion is not an issue, I think earning money is my only life goal :p

Should I take it as I'm sceptical since the new company is small and not as established.  The new role is with the founder however it does not seem to be structured. my current prospects in the current company are limited to a 15 % appraisal and maybe a promotion

I got an offer from splunk. The issue is last month I joined a banking MNC with 29 LPA as a fixed CTC.  

Right now Splunk is offering 22 LPA as base, 19 LPA as Retention bonus, and other benefits which makes my total CTC as 41 LPA. 

Not sure what to do? At one side I have a stable higher base pay job and on the other side a higher ctc and interesting job.

I am SDE and I joined a company 2.5 months back. I don't like the work that I am doing and the company is far from being profitable+ a huge cash burn + management is not good.
I interviewed with some other company and they have offered me a role. On paper it's an upgraded role but they are offering the exact salary as the current one + some esops.

Would you accept the offer if you were in my place?

Some general info:
1. Hate the work I am doing currently, the knowledge I get here can't be used in other companies.
2. Work is slow, not learning anything new
3. New company seems good from outside till now, have to validate with ex-employees
4. New company has Hybrid work, current is WFO
5. Have another offer which is paying a bit more than the 'new company' but don't want to join it, These guys are not matching the offer sadly

Should I switch?

Recently, I've completed 1 year into my role and my CTC is 16LPA. The company is a startup, and I've got ESOPs which are included in CTC.

It has been an year, and I'm thinking of making a switch. But still can't decide whether I should bet on ESOPs and stay, or get a higher pay and switch?

The company culture is pretty good, and it's a remote role, plus not much work load. :) 

But apparently, I'm worried if everyone else is making a switching companies with a 50% raise, why should I stick with 10% appraisal at a single company?

Would love to hear your thoughts.

I am sure alot of you are living away from your family. Wanted to know how do you take care of your parents and their expectations and at the same time fulfilling your career ambitions?

Sharing my personal story here. I come from a small town in Rajasthan and I belong to a upper middle class Jain family. With God’s grace, we are comfortable financially with a sizeable ancestral wealth. 

My father is 58 and is getting weak and old with time. He wants me to comeback and take care of the family business and properties. He fears that if the transition is not made quickly then my uncle’s family will take over my share. (My uncle is very well connected politically in my hometown)

But at the same time, I am not interested in taking over the business as of now and want to explore more in the field of tech and startups while living in different cities in Indian and abroad. I am now in a dilemma as to what is the right path moving forward and how do I balance my individual aspirations with my family responsibilities?

I am sure alot of you must have faced the similar issues and I am seeking your advice or experience in handling such problems.

I work with a south eastern gaint. Joined them just after college with around 19LPA for first year.. but they only gave 10% increment. Should I even try to switch given the market conditions? Its been exactly one year now. 

Work wise I think its okay. Not much work load and everybody is chill.

Hi all,
I'm currently working at Accenture for 3.5 years as C11(Database) , I was undergoing a training in Oracle Supply Chain Management at a Online centre/startup for last 6 months.

Now that startup want me to work as full time in the SCM technology but they are offering me the same salary package im currently getting now.

The thing is they are working on many project things like SCP,SCM,WMS etc but mostly experienced persons used to take care of the technical part. Which leave me to just schedule calls,doing excel/docs, analyze in the call for hours but couldn't understand anything. I understand there is more of self learning needed than of KT.
They are telling if I work here full time after a year they will recommend me for interview packages of 1 lakh per month.

I want to know whether the Oracle Fusion SCM has a growth in market for next 10 years.

And if i work in this startup and do only documentation and not work on technical stuff will i be able to clear the interviews with high packages(1 lakh/month)

Should i take a risk and join that startup and work for a year with same package. Or should i be current technology (database) and search jobs externally?. Any of your inputs is fine please help 🙏.

Pls help: Taking a Big decision in Career Life

Hi Folks, I’m currently working as a Senior Category associate and Got an offer from an X company but the role is of customer support they offered me because I had prior experience. My current pay is 5Laksh/Annum￼ and they’re offering 8Lakhs for customer support role. 

3 disadvantages I have that is 

1.My current role is different and I don’t want to back to customer support again.

2. Currently working for 5 days with just one shift where as this company has 6 days with rotational shifts and offs. 

3. The location to this office is 20kms where as my current office location is 10kms.

Please help me make a decision? I should go for it for sake of salary or should I wait for same kind of role that I’m currently doing. 

Does this gonna effect my future career ??
