- Slack has launched four new widgets for its iOS app, three for the homescreen and one for the lockscreen, making it easier to access the app quickly. - The Catch Up widget on the homescreen provides a quick glance at unread messages and mentions, offering more detail than the app icon's badge. - Two other homescreen widgets streamline status updates, with one offering quick access to status settings and another providing preselected status options like 'Focus' and 'Lunch'. - These preselected status options are currently not customizable, limiting user flexibility. - With Slack's pervasive presence on our devices, these new widgets could make work feel even more nonstop, integrating it further into our daily lives. It's been almost a month at my new job and among other things, the transition from email to slack for internal conversations has been very very interesting. previously everything had to be on email for it to be considered legit, slack was also there but not an official channel. now it is slack and only slack, personally prefer this.
