Struggling with motivation at work
These days, I feel lost at work. I keep procrastinating, with the first half of my mornings consumed by calls, and by the afternoon, I feel sleepy. I tell myself I’ll work at night but end up postponing it until early morning. I give 'in progress' updates during stand-ups, and somehow manage to finish everything under pressure on the last day of the sprint. It feels like I can’t motivate myself to work until the pressure hits. How can I overcome this behavior?
What helps me is changing the scene of working post morning, either going to a coffee shop or working from wework, really helps me get the focus back.
You're basically procrastinating because you know you will do the work when there's fire.
Also starting your day with a workout just changes the motivation trajectory.
