I am sorry my first post was supposed to be an achievement or CTC /salary  but  will surely come back one fine day with it too.
Anyways, I'm just trying to ask: what helps you? In your deepest, darkest of times, when nothing is working? Forget antidepressants for a second! Besides those medicines, what are some things that make you less depressed? 

The reason why I'm asking is that I am depressed. I was diagnosed by a professional.  Meds I don't like because they end up making me feel 
a) more depressed 
b) not at all myself; 
c) give me other terrible side effects 
Took therapy, antidepressants and what not for insomnia still don't have the right way to handle.

I just wanted new ideas, nevertheless, in hopes of finding something that may actually do something. If you ever have been in depression and insomniac please comment thereby creating a "safe space" Can't we ? For saving one life.

At the risk of sounding weak, this has become more and more rampant with me.

It feels as if I am living someone's elses life.

Somedays I just feel like living a life thats pointless. These are the days when I feel very prone to these emotional impulses of sudden "lonlinesss" (despite having few of the most amazing people in my life) or "emptiness" or "anti-gratitude/self-destruction". So much mental lethargy behing these useless chain of thoughts.

Am I the only one? Have I lost it? Am I sensitive? Is it a bad thing? Am I overworked? Am I too critical about my thoughts? 

Man this is so confounding.

How to control sudden outbursts of emotional anxiety ?

I have been suffering from work related anxiety for the last 3-4 months. I have recently started taking medications for it. I am supposed to move to Bengaluru as my wfh has ended. My parents think it's a good idea as it will help change my environment. I am wondering if it's a good idea to share about it at my workplace with my manager/superior. I know it's subjective, but still. Because I am worried this has started to affect my performance. Also, I am a talkative and emotional person and may end up slipping these things anyway.

Don't share this with anyone in workplace unless you really trust your manager who you know will always have your back 
  
 But please start seeking therapy regularly and actively, and do have faith in the process. You'll be available to cope with it better hopefully

So in the week, I’m chill in office but on the weekend , I’m completely lonely and I live near airport because office, and I don’t have enough money to afford a vehicle and the whole clothes washing drying takes up the whole Saturday cause living in a pg. 
I’m on the verge of crying every Saturday night and Sunday and felt like a dead person throughout. Sunday I’m coding cause looking for a job change and parents about to retire. So I’m looking for some trustworthy friends to help me grow and with whom I can be happy with.

I wonder what other people are doing. Because I’m having some rough nights sleeping in due to anxiety.

Avoiding anxiolytics or beta blockers for now. Also avoiding a mental health therapist for as long as I can.

Senior Software Engineer

I earn a decent living ~32LPA as a Software Engineer. I really enjoy my work and it is always a joy working with smart people around you. 

I sometimes wonder if I didn't exist would it matter in the world. At work, I come up with great ideas and insights which my peers appreciate and support, but there hasn't been one thing that they took seriously and moved ahead with. 

My peers around me constantly belittle me, some unprofessional jokes about my competence and intellect, even though I am actually good at what I do and more. 

The backhanded compliments and sarcastic replies in front of other people in my company makes me sad beyond belief. It is almost like I give so much of time to this company and although everyone cares about the work I do but no one cares about me. 

My colleagues constantly try to one-up themselves by bullying juniors and laughing in their glass-walled conference walls. 

Incidents like these make me want to give up on work. I think the mix of giving all of myself at work(intensity and long hours), constant berating on my competence and the time I spend away from my family and "real" friends(not these fake work colleagues) makes me depressed as fuck. 

I am now understanding that you can never be happy in life because you can never have all that you want. You will give up something for the other. You think making more money will make you happier but you will just end up losing your sanity.

Hang in there, friend. I can assure you that you can find happiness in the workplace. What you're experiencing is common but definitely not the norm. There are many places out there where people are decent and you wouldn't be treated so pathetically. I hope you find the opportunity to move out and cut yourself off from the vile people at your present employer.

What is your fav. way to vent out?

I recently moved to Bangalore and almost immediately went into a zone of persistently feeling sad and hopeless. I refused to take antidepressants. I am doing slightly better after few sessions of therapy, but I want to know some other alternatives? Anybody experienced the same thing? What makes it better? Bangalore feels like a culture-less city tbh.

Depression is common in Bangalore?

It's same for all metro. But I will tell what helped me. 
  
 Don't just work and eat sleep. 
  
 Pursue few hobbies...like i picked swimming, running and gym on weekends. 
  
 Read books... 
  
 Travel to South Indian places and beaches hill stations. 
  
 Read spiritual books or listen to them. 
  
 Eat healthy, watch healthy, think healthy. 
  
 Always take care of parents n siblings health especially.
