[Thread] Why you should check the bill carefully.

Hello folks, Due to some financial crunch, I'm planning to get a credit card but I've heard from people about the scary stories of credit cards. Can any body who owns credit card can give his experience or any tips what card or how to use the card or any other general advice. I just want to use cc for online purchases and maybe in emergency situations. Thank you in advance.

Is it common that transactions that happened during the last billing cycle to show up within transactions of the current one? Because for me now, this month's statement included one major purchase that should have been billed last time, but since it came up in this month, my credit utilisation crossed like 60%. I will be going to the bank tomorrow, had gone yesterday too, to ask why this happened. Few more details: billing cycle for my HDFC Freedom Card is 16th. The major purchase happened at 15th of last month. I had pre-paid a major chunk for that purchase on the same day (which is showing up as Credit on last month's statement) but that purchase itself isn't showing up in that statement. Any insight from some of the more experienced folks would be appreciated, thanks!

Dating scam

Last year, I was grinding away at the client's office. They're like the big shots in the textile game. Fast forward to a Saturday night, 8:30 PM, and we're finally wrapping up our work. My girlfriend flew from Delhi and we decide to hit up this ultra-luxurious restaurant for dinner. We go all out, order everything that catches our eye, and to top it off, we decide to cap the night with this mind-blowing dessert that sets us back a solid 25,000. When the bill arrives,I pay and then I shoot a reimbursement request to the client; stating to have a dinner with one of their major vendors, thinking it's all in good fun, right? Well, guess what? Next day the client comes back and I receive a mail stating my reimbursement is approved! I'm sitting there, staring at my phone, thinking, Did I just stumble onto some secret business dinner expense loophole?

How do you manage your reimbursable bills? Is there an app? Or do you just take photos of petrol bills, clothes bills etc? It’s a pain in the ass to keep these bills and then upload, but if you do it correctly, I’ve seen people save a lot. Is it worth the hassle?

Went there for a fracture, the doctor asked about my company and job . I thought its just normal conversation. Later when I got the bill it was very high, overheard the nurses saying that this amount is too high for the procedure.

Woke up to mail that CIBIL score was updated I have not applied to any credit products in this year How can I check who requested this? Could this be a loan scam on my name?
