Toughest domain in product management
What is the toughest domain in product management? Are PMs in one domain more regarded than others?

Good question man. You can reach out to PMs in different domains and conduct a short survey. You would get detailed answers.
What are you looking to understand btw?
Also the toughest domain would look like 4-5 top players operating in losses or thin margins like aviation or food tech. Or highly regulated as mentioned.
I'm trying to understand what domains in PM need specific industry knowledge or technical knowledge in addition to PM skills. My objective is to find out which domain in PM is more secure and while also having a lot of potential. My assumption is that pm roles that required more than just generalist pm skills are both secure and future proof. For eg: a PM in a B2B company with a core tech product would have both pm and tech knowledge as compared to maybe a pm at an edtech company.
Happy to hear your thoughts.

Apples to oranges comparison. Each domain has its own challenges. You will be regarded highly in any domain, if you are extremely good at what you do and have deep Subject matter expertise.
Having said that, I do feel industries which are highly regulated (like healthcare for ex) are slightly more tougher as your solution space is more constrained and you need to tread very carefully.

Yup, fintech and health would be most challenging because of regulations and compliance.
