Maldives is going to be a big pain in as* for India in the coming future.
It's like that child who we cannot beat the shit out because we don't want it to go to China and help them set up Chinese military bases in the Indian Ocean.
And, secondly  we will have to send aid money of billions of dollars so that they do not trap into the belt and road initiative of china ....again for the same above reason.
