I recently got a chance to interview with Microsoft and it was probably one of the worst interview experiences ever.

Team: CCE - Commerce Customer Experience (BEWARE OF THESE FOLKS!)

Round 1 - March 27, 2024
An engineer from WA reached out to me via call and told me that they want to interview me for an opening. I was happy and agreed for an interview the next day at night. In the meantime, I asked the seniority, the job description, and the interview structure. He said 4 rounds and sent me a SE2 job description. He asked me DSA and some basic Java Questions. The interview went very well.
Self Verdict: Pass
Actual Verdict: Pass

Round 2 - April 1, 2024
A manager (who would have become my manager if selected), called me. He sits in HYD office. Asked me for an interview. He asked me tougher DSA and System Design. The interview went very well.
Self Verdict: Pass
Actual Verdict: Pass

Round 3 - April 10, 2024
Another person, who is the manager of the 2nd interviewer called me and asked me for an interview. Same, DSA, System Design. The interview went very well.
Self Verdict: Pass
Actual Verdict: Pass

Before round 4, I had to call and write emails to my 3rd round of interviewer to ask for updates as there is no HR involved; and he said, "The position has been put to hold because of some internal restructuring. Please just wait!"

Round 4 - April 24, 2024
Another perosn called me from WA, and requested to schedule an interview. I thought this would be my last round. He asked me DSA, and tried to understand my profle and asked me some AA interview like questions. The interview went very well.
Self Verdict: Pass
Actual Verdict: Pass

Now, I was just hoping for a call form the HR to ask me for details to release an offer. But now the twist starts!

Nowadays companies tend to take 5-6 rounds of interview and
One of my friends had gone through a similar procedure for 3 companies now- all into Fintech(one is a big MNC doing good and the other ones are startup) initially they moved forward with the CTC although they didn't have the budget and after 6 rounds of interview(5 general rounds and 1 to be more sure). 
I don't know how you cannot be sure of someone after 6 rounds of interview and why companies are not transparent about the CTC they can afford.
It has happened to a lot of my known SDEs including myself. 
Just wanted to vent out, just because of the ongoing market conditions, companies are troubling the candidates a lot.
Did you guys also have similar experiences?

A new trend going on... 💀

Was under a 3 month long process for an internship position at FAANG level company. Had multiple rounds of interview and breezed through all. Was on the last stage of the interview which was yet to be scheduled and received an email from the recruiter that I've been rejected because they have found better candidates who have completed all the rounds and I had one round remaining. A week back I shared my availability for the last round and was following up daily for the schedule but didn't receive any response from the recruiter end and now this. Such a shitty hiring process.

Interview process - 2 HR rounds, 2 manager rounds, 1 aptitude. (took around 3 week) 

I was like why God why? Why someone's second choice 😭

I am seeing a lot of layoff related posts everywhere from news articles to LinkedIn.. Is the Job market really that bad now? Or just the media is projecting that way? 

If it's really bad, which department you think is the most affected? How's layoffs specifically in India? Or is it layoffs in US but more hiring in India due to cost cutting? 

Are layoffs in technology/engineering dept as in for developers or some other departments? Your thoughts please..

It is really bad right now 
 1. Layoffs in many of the companies, irrespective of whether they're a startup or a big MnC. 
 2. Almost everyone I know of wants to switch, because of no/less appraisals from last 2 years 
 3. Bad work life balance - people thinks switching might help 
 4. Too much competition for any open position. Because of too much supply, companies are low-balling and people would accept the offer.  
  
 Recruiters ghosting is too common. Even if you've killed in your interviews and recruiters get someone who's ready to join on less pay, they'll simply ghost you.

I've recently appeared for the Interview at Apple. Total 7 rounds and last round was with the HR. Till 6th round feedback was quite positive and in the 7th Round there was discussion that happened about Salary expectation. HR mentioned that she will check and get back with approved numbers and If I'm okay then they will proceed with releasing the offer letter. So I was expecting the same.

But One week later HR called and rejected me saying that another Candidate is selected for this role. I was heartbroken and devastated. When I asked for the feedback, She said they cannot share the feedback it's just that they felt another candidate is better fit than me so they are going ahead with that candidate. On the very next day of my rejection call, they opened the Same position again in the Careers site.

After 2 weeks again I called the same HR to understand If I could apply for the open position. She said that the Careers site it posted wrongly, the open position is not for my experience but it's for more experienced/senior Level. I could think that HR is not being transparent. This time again I asked for feedback, what went wrong or what could have been better, to which she replied that I was not clear on certain things and I was not transparent.

Background is : After 6 rounds were done, HR called me suddenly one day and informed me that I cleared all the rounds and asked me for the expectation. I thanked her and asked about the Role (IC3 or IC4 or IC2) that I would likely get So that I can do some research and get back.
She said she doesn't have clarity yet on the Role and mentioned mostly it would be IC3. So I asked her for some time to get back and 2 hours later I discussed my expectations. 
Then a week later, the Rejection call.

Not sure what went wrong. In my most recent call she mentioned that for some simple questions like expectations I was not giving answers properly. It's been 3 weeks and I still could not come out of that rejection.

Need advice for the second round of technical interview at Accenture. Will it be telephonic just about the project or deep dive into the coding?

I gave an interview in the Accenture for a java developer this Tuesday with 4 years of experience.

The first round of the interview took almost an hour.

I received a HR call today and she was asking for availability for an interview. Even though she was confused that is this for second round. When I asked she said - yes , this is the second round with confusion.

I'll go first. I got a call for an APM role from one of the companies which did sound pretty sketchy and the recruiter was started bullying me into answering questions, when I asked to know more about the role. The recruiter was extremely unprofessional, and obviously the conversation was nowhere great. They however, did go ahead and sent me the JD and other links, etc to fill in and apply for the job. Mind you, I hadn't applied for the job. 🥲
It just was a pretty sour conversation which had left me in an uncertain situation. Any similar experiences?

Weird recruiter experiences

Asked for my expected CTC. I answered and they weren't happy with it. Said they could only give at 40% increment of current CTC and then asked for my current CTC. After hearing my current CTC they said I shouldn't be earning this much and that I was obviously making it up. Then asked to send over my salary payslip which I refused. Basically the HR started being extremely rude at this point stating that I was being unprofessional. I asked their salary budget for the role which they refused to answer. Then I asked if they were willing to hire me for a lower CTC which she instantly agreed and said she knew I was reasonable and I shouldn't have lied about my CTC. I then said good luck finding a candidate for that amount and hung up.

This was my pathetic interview experience with Acceldata india with a very unprofessional and lying recruiter. This story has a satisfying ending.

I attended 6 rounds of interviews in 1 month and completed a take home assignment. I cleared all the rounds and even had a manager discussion about my onboarding. All good so far. 

Few days later the recruiter called back and said we need one more round (8th round) with the director who sits in US office. I said Ok and he scheduled this call on a Friday 10pm at night. 

At 9:55pm I tried to join the meeting link he sent but the link was not working. I tried in different browsers, different laptop, different internet connection. No luck. 

So I reached out to recruiter on mobile and he doesn't pick up. I know he's available because he was on call with someone else. I even tried reaching him via a different phone number but still no luck. Imagine the anxiety and panic I had to go through since I felt that it was my fault. 

On, next day he casually calls me in the morning to say that "Sorry I tried calling you 2 days ago but your mobile was unreachable (which is a plain lie). He says he cancelled the meeting because he found another candidate with lower salary.

That's fine, and I don't give a damn at this point. But I asked why didn't he send meeting cancelled email so I didn't have to panic on a friday late night. He casually says "Sorry about that". That's the last I hear of him. No response after that. 

All this after going through 8 rounds of interviews and a take home assignment. All because this a--hole recruiter lied to my face and couldn't send a simple email. 

Funny thing is: Another recruiter reached out to me 3 months later for the same role. Apparently the candidate they hired instead of me backed out at the last miniute. 🤣

If you get a chance to interview at AccelData, trust me, please don't waste your time. The company and the recruiting practises are not worth your time, even if you are jobless.

I gave my 3rd round of interview on last Friday and it went very well. I was told it was the last round and I was looking forward for an offer. But recruiter is telling me from the past 3 days that she hasn't received any feedback still and she should receive it soon ( the guy who took my interview was from US team). Is she bluffing?

I had an interview with Capgemini for BA profile around 23rd February. It went amazing. Got selected for second round. They asked for details like UAN card and previous salary slips and offer letters to schedule a client interview.

It sounded weird but I provided the details because I couldn't think of any way they can misuse the information.

It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard from them. 

Is this usual practice? Personally haven't come across such a situation before.

I have been interviewing with Microsoft since late March 2024, possibly for an SE2 position.
There is no HR involved. Engineers/Managers from Washington and Hyderabad call me or email me and schedule my interviews.

Round 1 (Mar last week): Technical
Round 2 (Apr first week): Technical
Round 3 (Apr 2nd week): Technical
Round 4 (Apr last week): HM

Surpisingly, there is a round 5.
Round 5 (May second week): Technical/HM

My 5th interviewer said that there is going to be a 6th round of interview as well, by the manager of 5th interviewer. He also said, "Hoping that we will work together soon."

As of the date of writing this post, my 5th interview was almost 3 weeks ago. I asked my 5th interviewer for an update and I got a response saying:

"Sorry for the delayed response. I was so busy with many work items. At the moment we are on hold and we will reach out to you once we have the confirmation."

After my 3rd round of interview, there was a gap of 2 weeks as well, and upon aksing my 3rd round of interviewer about an update of my candidature, he told me something similar. It did upset me but I did have a 4th round as well.

Given Microsoft is hiring a lot right now, I feel confused why my candidature is on hold. I feel very frustrated and desperate for the offer.

Because I am new to this, I would appreciate if anyone here, can help me with their experience ,what could be going on?

PS: All my interviewes were extreamly well.

Have anyone got remote  job from this platform called mercor, after attending AI interview for 20 mins , how was the process, kindly share your experience.

I was interviewed at Accenture last month and was informed, my skill round is through. They scheduled a managerial round for me but later cancelled. Then onwards I keep getting a call from them that they want to schedule my MR and I agree for whatever date they ask me to come. But they never send interview invite. I even called back the HRs and they keep saying we will check and reschedule. No response from their candidate query mail  also.
