What are your opinions of some of these mystics/philosophers/gurus like sadguru, osho, J krishnamurti. Lots of people around me are quite impressed with them. 

In my opinion some of their talks makes sense and can be useful but most of them sounds like mind games and people are getting interested and curious about them.

The internet/apps gave people a platform. Everyone is seeking to be popular without putting in the effort. There's no need for 'Deep Work' anymore. Everyone wants to give Gyan and life-lessons on LinkedIn. 

I just lament the subversion of goals and ambition into a phoney-seemingly-all-knowing-charade on one of the social media platforms.

So I've been fed his podcasts a lot lately by the  YouTube algo. And while it's amazing one of India's best startup entrepreneurs is getting really good guests to come on his show, I just can't stand him. 

He interjects before the guests have a chance to finish their thought and at times it feels like the podcast is a platform to air his views rather than the guests. Especially his insistence on traumatic childhoods as a prerequisite for greatness and why  capitalism is best.

PS: Please don't come at me like his fans in the comments, legit want to know if this is just me or something others feel too.

The more I read about him, the more intrigued I am. Seems like a grounded guy 

I honestly had a bias against him as the brand he built did a few things that weren't right to be honest. Wouldn't have maybe been the case if they would've toned down their growth rate to grow ethically and organically.

Took enough risk as the sole founder, understood the VC game and made 800 crores personally from the acquisition.

But listening to him makes me change my perspective a bit. Personally for me, I've always taken bad risks and he seems to have left a lot of career opportunities that others would die for. He's explored spirituality (he quotes his personal tragedy) travelled etc.

Any thoughts on this. Why do Founders always portray themselves as superheroes? Is normal job only meant for peasants like us?

I’ve muted/ blocked most of the Linkedin/ Twitter influencers. But sometimes in my feed I do get some people putting shorts of Tanay’s content.

I’ve gone through his youtube content, it’s full of cringe to me. I know he has done something good with neog camp, but again nowadays I don’t understand their point.

Learning to code takes some efforts from individual not spoon feeding or making students feel that they can learn anything. These influencers mostly over hype easy concepts and skip the hard sections.

It takes efforts to learn something new, no one can make you learn unless you try to learn on your own.

Is it only me or you also think Tanay Pratap’s content is full of cringe

So I guess I hit the mid-life career crisis and finally resigned from Microsoft abruptly yesterday. 

Reasons for resignation:
1. I am saturated with my work and feel out of fuel now.
2. No Pay Raise or Stocks since 2 years.
3. No Promo in last 2 years even after being a top performer and winning multiple awards and accolades.
4. Was promised by my manager that I will be promoted in Feb but now he/she quotes budget.

What my manager says:
1. You have a valid L1B, don't resign.
2. Says you will get the promo in September but now it is not possible.

Please Note: I resigned abruptly without any offers in hand. I guess managers think that folks who have L1B won't resign so their promo can be delayed.

Just wanted to share with the the community. Thanks 🙏

Half of the show is just maa-bhen ki gaali (vulgar and abusive words), every video hitting millions of views on YT and is trending too.

I would never like my kids to find such videos from the trending YT page or even I wouldn't like my gen-Z son/daughter exposed to such videos. There is just too much vulgar and offensive content passed off as comedy and entertainment all over the place these days.

Every time a startup faces backlash from community or users, the founders just go to YourStory to white wash their image.
Saw OLA's founder Bhavish oozing gyan and patriotism, Zomato's founder Deep come and answer cute simple questions and now Mamaearth before IPO.

They used to do candid reporting but long gone are those days
