What do you like to spend your money on?

So many folks are speaking out (or bragging who knows🤷) about their monthly/yearly paychecks. Just curious, for all single folks who are receiving a hefty wad of cash every month:

  1. what do your general expenses look like?
  2. what do you like to spend it on the most?

Here's my monthly breakdown(jab hum employed hua karte the🥲):

rent(coliving PG)- 12k transport- avg. 1.5k food- avg 7k gym & stuff- 7k parties- 5k misc- 2k TOTAL- 34.5k out of 80k in-hand

Apart from the general expenses, once in a while, I'll indulge in buying a good perfume of around 5-6k.

The 2 most costly purchases I made were a new laptop(asus vivobook)- 50k & prs electric guitar & accessories- 82k

What about you?

That’s just the Mumbai rent. I’m living in a great location - but apartment is a regular 1 bhk. It’s just that I value my time and don’t want to spend it on travel.. so staying walking distance from office.

My biggest recurring expense is ~6-8k per month on whey protein.

Electricity is 2-3k, water is 1k.

Daily food expenses is shared with parents & costs about 20-30k per month (including me mom and dad);

I have to go to office 2 days a week which can get expensive since I stay a bit far - cab might cost 400-600 one way (and I have office shuttle for my way back); in total I spend about 5k in transportation to office & other places.

I usually have 1 or 2 outings/house parties which cost ~5k

In total this is about 20k in personal expenses and 20-30k food & groceries for parents; so total expenses are below 50k per month (FYI we have our own in Bangalore so no rent)

My mom gets rental income of 25k per month which she uses to manage groceries; so I don’t spend anything on that tbh. Dad also has some money to last him a few years. Hence, I’d consider my current fixed monthly recurring expenses to be about 20k per month.

I earn over 1 crpa (before taxes) and have more than 1 cr saved up in various places; I can easily generate more than 30-40k per month risk-free if i liquidated everything; so it feels good to know that I have hit financial independence (atleast till I get married or have a kid)

Expenses for the home 30k or 20k. Rest saving. Love with parents. Pay college fee and bought phone for parents 30k. Bas. Rest i dont like to purchase too expensive shit as it is just shit.

Nice, i like that. But not everything expensive is shit you know😅

I have never seen how something that expensive is justifiable. Phones touching 1 lac easily nowadays.

1lac not worth it on any phone imo. They usually also come with bugs like the s23 ultra which has blur on one of its camera. Costs 1.2lac lol. Cars I don't drive. I don't wear expensive clothes. Like what is the point of a 20k piece of cloth? You will still remain you. Normal clothes are fine for me. Rest is all marketing to get your money. Imo.
