What phone do you use?

Realme 8 . From 3 years. Bought it because it was vfm and because my old moto g4 display got issues after 4 years . So basically 2 phones in last 8 years . I'm not into buying high end luxury iphones or samsung, just feel as if it doesn't make sense to spend so much on it. They kinda lock you into their ecosystem . Buy iphones , but charger, buy earpods blablabla, also if you use old iphones, other iPhone users look at you as if you're broke.I don't hate them , but for my budget and usage Realme phones do enough.One day I might buy them , not now 🥹

iPhone 12 mini, 3 years now. Bought because because of its size.

I change phones every ~3 years. 2013-16 Moto G, 2016-19 Moto G4 Plus, 2019-2022 Poco F1, 2022-current Mi 11T Pro Change triggers - battery life, slow performance, camera quality I generally replace the battery at 24 months period, costs like 2k but gives me more freedom - I am not tied to a power bank or have to think of power running out Mid range Android phones generally get obsolete in ~3 yrs - lag/ heatup while video calling, newer Android OS slowing down things etc. 3 yr mark is a good point to upgrade Camera - I am by no means a social media fan, I don't constantly post photos. But 20 years from now, I do hope to look at photos from today. Would want to have good photos then, hence worth remaining close to innovation in camera tech today. Hence worth upgrading a better sensors But the rate of tech change has certainly reduced. My next phone purchase might not be trigger by obsolete hardware, but maybe to exiting the Mi ecosystem. Low/mid range phone always. Works fine for 4+ years and more if you root.
