What should be my salary?
I think I'm being lowballed. Not sure though. Non tech Product Manager for 3.5 years. Total experience of 11 years. Tier 1 MBA after 6 years of working in the core industry. Current salary is 29L.
It’s definitely low. It should be somewhere between 40 to 60.
If the current org isn’t giving hike try looking out. Don’t be in a hurry in this market condition.

Which one is this Tier1 MBA?
XLRI executive MBAs don’t fetch that great I think. I know one friend who had been on similar package a few yrs back. He should have been in almost same package range as yours currently, and about the same experience too.

You clearly never went to one. Stop believing the social media headlines
Just because you are not able to make that much doesn't mean others aren't. I didn't go to an iim but I did go to a tier 1 mba college. Nearly all tier 1 colleges have their placement reports audited by a third party so their salary numbers are true.

Two questions:
1. What do you mean by core industry? Is the experience relevant to current role you are seeking/doing?
2. Is your MBA executive or regular?
He did mention MBA after 6 yrs of Job, so it must be executive one. So no wonder….
1. Core as in core engineering. So, no, not at all relevant to current role.
2. Executive - as in one year program.
