What's the growth curve after becoming a creative director?
I am 32 and I've been in advertising for the past 6 odd years (used to work in finance before that). I recently became a CD and honestly I couldn't understand what the growth curve from here looks like. Do most people pivot to the brand side? Is it necessary to get a marketing MBA to grow? Does one's career roughly plateau around CD/Sr CD levels if they don't have IVY league MBA's.
Man, this helps a lot, thank you. So in essence this is the ceiling unless you're a genius Or you can pivot outside the country, am I right?

The fact that you said mota-moti just adds to your credibility. But same, and I've seen them be CDs for a while now, so, it's a little puzzling. Honestly don't fully understand how the pressure is sustainable without growth for like 4-5 years.

You'll end up an alcoholic damaging all your relationships and then will leave the office randomly one day and end up in a yoga retreat in California from where you'll call your ex colleague and have a panic attack. However while at the retreat you'll get the idea of an iconic coca cola ad
Cool, If I retire now and become a chemistry teacher then will I end up controlling a massive drug cartel? Because that's a pivot worth taking then.

Assuming you're currently around the 30lpa mark? Give or take upward? That's how high t goes until you become a national legend. Then you use your head and go to FB like Ram Cobain (they did lay him off eventually but he made DOLLAH there), or become a CD in Meesho (like for like startup) where the CD has enough work and could get paid 50-60lpa. That's the ceiling. The MBA may not help the career unless you magically learn how to tie business together and manage budgets. But some place could take a bet on you as a brand head and then it could go to 70-80lpa. Don't do the MBA, rather do Reforge and learn about marketing and get your numbers game on.
