I am graduating in 2024 and looking for joining entry level product/business analyst roles . I am wondering when the things will get normalise and hiring frequency will become normal as most of the students even from IITs and other premium institutes are finding it hard to bag jobs unlike in past years , what should I do being a tier 3 college student having a mechanical engineering background who wants to switch to product/biztech roles , i am planning to puruse MIM abroad after 2 years , will I face any difficulties in finding jobs in European regions if target hec Paris/LBS OR INSEAD FRANCE OR ESSEC

To skip the long story I was fired out of nowhere by the company I was working for my supervisor never told me I was doing nothing wrong everybody played it off until I received a call saying they let me go I have 2 kids under 2 it’s been hard trying to upskill and study for to make myself more valuable and my spouse works idk what to do I feel like I’m useless and a waste of life.

I’ve been unemployed since November 2023, I feel like I’ll never find a job in tech again.

COVID level hiring which happened till mid of 2022 was exceptional and will never happen again. But precovid situation was much better than now. If any of you are experienced and know industry in depth can you tell me when precovid level of hiring again begin?

I have been reading posts about recovery in IT and that hiring has started happening again but really who is hiring? And are people really getting hired?
I am yet to see posts on LinkedIn about people starting new jobs.

After the exciting 2+ yrs ( including 6 months internship) as a software developer, I have decided to move on to a new opportunity at a company with a strong financial foundation. 

I'd love to connect with folks working in the Backend Development space, passionate about building high-performance APIs and microservices ( Node.js/MongoDB/MySQL).

As we know, the tech industry has seen its share of changes lately, I have been actively exploring the job market for the past 2 months but no luck. So, if you're aware of any exciting opportunities or know of hiring managers, I'd love to hear from you.

Do I loose out on senior roles in larger/  ‘branded’ orgs as I gain more experience due not being an MBA from top 10?

Current role - PM at Unicorn 
YoE - 4.5 , Pm ex -2 
Education : BTech from tier 3 college 
Ctc - 41 lpa + esops 

I haven’t been able to get any short lists from MANGA or other large tech orgs only from startups.

Should I do an MBA?

Tech recession

Hey everyone, I am a Junior FE Dev (from my prev work title coz my exp is 1YoE). Have been working extensively on React.JS and Redux. My previous company was great. I was loving it. Sadly a few months ago, I was laid off. I still don't know the reason behind why I was one of the laid off people. Anyway, I moved on from that depression and started searching for a new job from last month. Made it to final rounds in pretty much every interview I sat for. But then got rejected in final round for crazy reasons including "we currently don't have funds to hire you". One of them even said they are on hiring freeze, literally in the final round 🥲. 

Haven't been able to get a job anywhere. I don't know if my skills aren't enough to be hired or is it something else. "What's hot in FE right now ? Like what skills can fetch me a job ?" - Started asking this myself as well as some of my good friends, but they say don't learn skills for getting job, learn it for yourself. Though it's true, I don't have much savings to support myself for atleast a month. So, I have to get into a job to keep myself from going bonkers under the financial crunch that I can clearly see ahead of myself if I stay unemployed in the next 20 days.

Yes, the tech market is in its winter season. I understand that, but I still see there are so many openings in the market for ppl with 1YoE like me and skillset that matches mine, yet I never hear back from them or just get rejected in final rounds 😕.

I'm absolutely clueless on what to do right now. Any suggestions would be really helpful.

Why is getting a job sooo hard these days ?!

I faced job loss in November, with one year of experience as a 2022 batch passout. My skills include JavaScript, React, and Core Java, and I've begun practicing on LeetCode. Despite applying to nearby companies and MNCs, I haven't received any responses, leaving me feeling tense and depressed. I'm uncertain about when hiring will resume.

I can see a lot of getting placed, starting new positions posts on LinkedIn. Aprt from the obvious jpmc appraisals, is hiring starting to get normla? Also the orgs which did layoffs is hiring?  And by hiring here I mean people actually starting there day1. I cant wrap my head around. Whats happening?

Have been hunting for a job for a while. Non tech background and completed mba in 2022. Open to working in sales, marketing and no industry preference as such! 
I keep hearing news that some companies are hiring in bulk and some have hiring freeze. So is this the time to upskill into one of the trendy things or keep looking for a job ?  Advise, experiences and informs about companies hiring is most welcome!

I am sure this post will get a lot of backlash but still I want to express my thoughts. I usually don’t post anything but this just cross my mind.

It’s been months now and we are hearing layoffs news from big tech giants Twitter, Google, Amazon, Meta, Microsoft. LinkedIn is flooded with posts from the people who got laid off. These posts garnering thousands of comments from people ready to help.

My question to the tech community, What are we doing for our people who are not from so called big tech companies.? How are we helping them? I am sure there are people who got laid off from other companies need greater support in getting a job.

All the companies right now are focussing on getting people from the former group. I don’t have any problem with that but it’s the fact that they were already on the top 5-10% of the tech pyramid. They were getting paid better than anyone in the market for years. They got the best facilites and sure have a good financial backup and savings. Even the severance packages they get from their companies is way higher than the market standards. Moreover, they are talented minds and already have an edge over their competitors.

My request to tech community is to stop being biased and help people from the latter group to get some living(Job). They are in more need of our help and support.

PS: This is just my personal opinion and there is no negative context to it.
