After living in Delhi NCR for 10y, I left for my hometown in covid and then switched to Bangalore.

How is situation now? 

400+ aqi is way too much. Like smoking 20 🚬 daily.
Very deep consequences on health especially respiratory system.

Recently moved to Bengaluru and the pollution is much more noticeable here. I know all about AQI but that's an average. On the roads and in colonies the pollution is unbelievable especially from buses that are always spewing black smoke. Especially in residential areas, garbage is burned every day.

Am I the only one who finds Bangalore more polluted than Delhi?

Bangalore's infra has been crumbling under the weight of its population growth. I believe that yesterday's traffic jam was just a trailer and situation will only worsen with time. 

Seriously contemplating moving out of Bangalore after being here for last 5 years. 

People who moved out, where did you move? And are you happy now with your decision ?

 much peaceful compared to Bangalore and work culture is way better than my experiences in Bangalore.  
 Festival celebrations are just amazing and no bad experiences since past 1.5 yr 
 Congestion is piling up this city just like BLR, as a lot of tech companies are gearing up for new offices and new tech parks are already under construction - specifically KHARADI area and they say almost 1.5 lac IT jobs will open up in the next 3-4 years.  
 Traffic woes are same,but again depends on the which part you stay - as we have similar deadlock junctions in Pune as well, if compared to BLR.

How can a person protect oneself from such air?

Air quality index at 308 level as of now at Koramangala

- **Delhi** is grappling with **alarming air quality** levels, with the **AQI** recorded at **336** at 7 AM, slightly better than the previous day's peak of over 350.
- Despite the **Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP)-II** implementation, the situation worsened, with AQI dipping to **354** by Wednesday 8 AM.

- **Stubble burning** and local pollution sources are major contributors, with **PM2.5** levels rising throughout the day.
- Forecasts predict **'very poor' to 'severe'** air quality for the next six days, with no major improvement expected.

Delhi's Air Quality Hits 'Very Poor' Levels

To all the people of Delhi, does the 999 AQI bother you? Or have we become complacent with chalta hai attitude? Because I don't see any protest on the streets , Demand for WFH or policy changes by state or center. Are we okay risking our life and shortening our lifespan in gas chambers?

Don't take this post negatively but think hard and put your views. We all agree that India is doing great at this point of time but no one , literally no one is talking about the danger future we have in front of us in coming years.
Below points need immediate attention and action 

1) Huge water crises in all the major cities and it will only get worse each year.
2) Corruption still relevant in almost all government works from land registration to traffic fines to railway ticket fines, you name it. 
3) We really need one child policy for some years now otherwise we can't imagine how dark the future is in all terms, from food to employment to natural resources.
4) Almost every food product from oil, ghee, butter is contaminated and the quality is just getting worse, to meet demand and to increase profits. Also corruption here.
5) The weather is just getting worse because of all the concrete jungles we have created and this will also get worse , thanks to our never ending population explosion.


Barack Obama rightly said recently that we should focus on improving the health of earth rather than finding life on Mars.
Earth will still have oxygen even after nuclear energy wars.

Sometimes I really think that we need real Thanos , who is the only one who can help solve these problems.
