Work is worship but health is everything

Honestly, I thought the added allowance would be worth it. But I honestly hate the work I'm doing and everything about the office in general. I miss chilling out in the evenings after work like a normal person, I miss just being normal and not having weird sleep patterns. I cry or am on the verge of crying almost everyday. At this point, I just want to quit and take a few weeks to feel normal and happier? Of course, given the market, this would be a very stupid decision. Unfortunately all the jobs I'm getting are usually a pay cut. I don't get how people, with MBAs, families and an active social life do this, honestly. I have neither and I freaking hate it. Would quitting be actually worth it for my overall health?

I have observed and experienced the way IT engineers and many other similar professionals are working a lot, spending nights and day, constantly hooked onto laptops, many of us are losing a lot of hair, have dull skin and face a lot of other issues. There are a lot of issues that we don't observe like fatty lever, cholesterol, vitamin deficiency, back problems and many more. These problems don't surface in 4-6 months or a year. They will be there when we maintain unhealthy lifestyle over couple of years. Have seen people in 35 looking like 50 with grey hair, dull skin and unhealthy. Have seen a lot of people spending day and night on laptop voluntary even after having kids. I am 100% sure no family would want to see you guys working all night. What these people will tell their family is I have a lot of work when it's not the case

I am an engineer and have been working remotely since the pandemic started. Initially, it was great as I could save time by not commuting to office but now I feel like I am missing out on something. I don't know what it is but I just feel like I need to be in an office environment to thrive. Maybe it's the social aspect or the structure of having set hours, but whatever it is, I can't seem to find the same level of motivation when working from home. Anyone else feeling this way? Any tips on how to make remote work more productive and enjoyable?

TCS organises an internal exam called "Wings 1" by which the new joiners can double up their salary. (They get extra incentives, it's added as a separate item in Salary Slip). • No Fairness • No transparency , just hope so that you get stuck in the loop. So they organise this 3 times in a year so that they can cover the whole year. (Selling Hope of Getting Cleared Every Cycle). > A few months back they changed rules as most of the people were on the verge of clearing it. > There is no particular syllabus for most of the exams. > If you are on the verge of clearing Required Tracks, you will potentially end up getting failed in one of them for sure.(you'll never know why !) > There's no marking scheme. > The exam centres are 50-60KMs away. > You can't even see how many marks you scored. > The Result comes after a month, that too is sometimes delayed.(This is the same TCS which organises JEE etc exams). > If more people are clearing, they reshuffle marks (Happened in Earlier Cycle). > Even after so many obstacles if you clear it: if your manager gives you C band it goes away... they call themselves employee friendly 😂. Most of the new joiners get stuck in this cycle & end up losing their precious time. Someone should raise this issue. Is it mandatory to complete 9 hours in tcs office?

These past 6 months my performance at work has been dwindling and one primary reason I attribute is memory loss. I find it difficult to recall key points of mails, design reviews, MoMs etc. and often end up missing out things at assigned tasks. What's scarier is that it not only applies to new concepts, I often find myself forgetting even formerly familiar things. During morning updates and discussions I find myself giving uncertain inputs and asking shaky questions because I find it hard to remember key terms, figures etc. I sometimes even forget to pick up some assigned tasks altogether. Random brain freezes have become everyday affair. . Sleep-wise it has been little medium-poor but not so bad that could explain such drastic changes. I'm 30 yr old, male, unmarried and don't have any major health issues (except some stress / anxiety and accompanying Irritable Bowel Syndrome condition). . If anyone else experienced this, how have you dealt with it?

I strongly believe if companies reduced work hours to 6-7 hours a day it’ll increase in individual’s moral as well as productivity, what do you guys think? Currently my shift hours is 9 hours a day traveling to and from excluded which leads to 12 hours a day, which gets hectic sometimes.
