Accessing Industry Knowledge

For people working in startups, how do you access knowledge of an industry. Lets say, for example, I want to understand the supply chain of a startup operating in FMCG category. As a BCG consultant, I always had access to expert networks, which honestly cost a fortune. I just wish to know how startups navigate this challenge and what do you think might help in solving the access problem

Startups, my friend, are like Indian street cricket players. They learn from the field, not from expensive coaching classes. Got a startup idea?

Startups? They're just glorified gambling dens. They learn by burning investor money, not by hiring experts. Next question, please.

Same, industry experts.
Honestly, good startups do have good network and vc connections for more networking effects.
And I have seen people refrain to talk to consultants while seeking industry knowledge because they lack courage of executional experience.
