Hey guys, So I'm a senior BTech CSE engineering student from a Tier 2 college in Karnataka and I will be interning at a Top MNC in Bangalore over the summer for 2 months.
Any advice for me? As I will be entering the infamous corporate world as a new chapter in my life, I wanna know how the dynamics in corporate works and what I should prepare for.

The degree of success at your job will not be far less dependent on your core skillset (coding/data analytics) but more on your ability to deal with people

Regarding the informal relationships part.
I've been fascinated by this.
I want to make good long lasting connections with my peers. How do you suggest I approach that? Should I just hang around after work? Should I just engage in basic conversations? How exactly do I create the best lasting connections in a 2 month period?

Just don't be obvious about wanting to make connections. People have been throwing around the word "networking" too liberally across sm these days, understand how your association helps the other professional.
In corporates it's more often than not a give & take relationship especially when you're skipping levels.

There is no process mate, just be you and just be fun :) people don't like cocky introvert freshers. Talk to them regarding stuff that's not work, go out for drinks, etc.

Do your work well. Don't fight with people. Talk in a decent and calm manner. Be open to new things. Don't become a yes man. For making long lasting connections be your genuine self, don't become someone else.
I understand but to isn't that a cliche? We all put on a mask and play a role in the world. We cannot be our genuine self all the time right? Especially in politics right?
Think IDIL is trying to say you should be able to identify which situations/people are political like and which are genuine, open conversations. In any case, don't overthink these things, you just got through college and a lot of the social skills that helped you there will be of use here too.
Politics 101 : Dont try to be over smart than your manager. know the limits.

Keeping an attitude of knowing everything kinda hurts seniors ego. It shows you are trying to lower them down. Noone wants to feel insecure. Hope that helps!
Learn to please the people, then do your job. If you have a very firm personality, you already made it 😂 Also degree doesn't matter, upskill in your own time to be able to step in when even your seniors may not, that's how you rank up in corporate.
