APM/PM salary expectations
Have 2.5 yoe with 1 as APM, others in consulting and data. What should be the expected salary (Blr or remote or Delhi) as I feel like companies are lowballing me.
Hi guys, I am currently working as an APM at an AI startup(B2B SAAS) working on genAI product. Have 2 YOE and base of 20 LPA. Looking to switch due to growth barrier and work culture. Have given interviews with startups in similar domain for APM roles but getting ghosted after 3-4 rounds. I am looking for 20-30% hike. Am i asking too much? Any suggestions?
Background: B.Tech from IIT Delhi Current CTC:21Lpa YOE- 2 yrs
Well they have been ghosting because of your ask. The market is so bad that they are folks who have been laid off and on lower comp
Yeah. Even i think the same. Else, just before the salary discussion round, ghosting makes little sense.
How much should i ask at this point of time(if u hv any suggestions)? Actually i am okay with 10% as well but quoting this low might make the recruiter take it as a red flag/doubtful candidate.
This is bad,
IIT Delhi + 2 YoE should be at least 22 base + 2-4 bonus + ESOPs.
You’ve been shortchanged (probably cause your first job and you really wanted that APM role)
I’d say look for Series A/B startups. Easier to get their attention and plenty are currently hiring.
Bhai I don’t understand. I recently interviewed with Sprinklr for apm. After 3 rounds, hr said ur ask(26base) is too much. If so was the case, they could have clearified in the beginning itself. I really feel like there are too many folks from IIT IIM as well who are sitting at lower comp and willing to join, only then the HRs would behave like the way they do
Are you a 21 Graduate or 22 Graduate? If 21, would recommend to wait a bit more and get promoted to PM or look for PM roles rather than APM.

I have an offer from a firm where they have mentioned that their current apm has a payscale of 8-9.
Isn't that a bit too low?
I saw a report by the product folks group where they collected 550 data points & found the avg salary to be a...
This is a 33% increase - total 2 yoe, including 1 yoe as APM. HR rolled out 23 + 1 (JB) to consider startup ESOPS, but changed back to 22LPA because did not get degree from premier tech institute. Thoughts?
I have been working as an APM at a series C startup for the last 1 year. I did my MBA from a tier 1 college. Worked as a full stack developer for 2 years before that.
Am I underpaid? What would be a fair market compensation.
