which localities should I look for to stay in Bangalore since my company is in Ashok Nagar and my friend - who is going to stay with me is going to work at Marathalli. need advice on this. For now we looking for a middle area between.
If you would have asked this question 1 year ago, I would have said Marathahalli, Sarjapur. But the areas have become really expensive since past 6 months. You can try in HSR, BTM Layout, but I think rent have increased there as well.
If you and your friend don't have to travel daily, then you an try Electronic City as well. The metro from ecity to silk board will start from Feb next year so you'll have to travel via roads only for 3-4 months.

Indiranagar should be in the middle of Marathalli and Ashok Nagar if budget is not a constraint. You can try cheaper areas like Thippasandra, Halasuru, Jeevan Bheema Nagar near Indiranagar as well.
