Bengaluru tips for a newbie

Just moved to Bengaluru 2 weeks back as an Intern. Looking for some tips about Bengaluru. This could be anything from places to visit, money saving tips, cool communities to be a part of, activities to do, office tips, or like any random tip.

Like anything you feel you would have known earlier about working in Bengaluru.

Also how does clubs & pubs work, I seriously have no idea 😭 one sunday I went to see one, they said 4k cover charges but the entry was mentioned free on the platform.

Btw abt me: 21 y/o new intern in office coming from a tier 2 (almost 3) city.

Places to visit- blossoms and higginbotham on church street for books.

  • Cubbon park, Lalbagh, sankey tank for morning runs- You havent mentioned where you live so these maybe far for you.
  • Take yulu and explore the areas near you that should be fun
  • Most food joints are overpriced but some are good like truffles, toit for beers etc.
  • If you have group of friends you can also goto wonderla for day.
  • Work from wework for networking, most people I met were from there and very work oriented and hustle culture types, if thats your vibe

Thanks for these!! I've been to cubbon park, cool place. Planning to go lalbagh. I live in HSR so those are far away for daily visit but surely lalbagh is on my go to list.

For Yulu I've heard that during Covid, post covid it was superrr but now it has become very dead. Will see how it is. Rn rapdio works fine for me.

Thanks for the food joint suggestions

Wonderla is expensive for me since I'm working as an intern, not much money at hand but surely will go there too someday. Any offers you know about them? I've heard like some days of the week it's cheaper than usual.

As far as I know about wework, those are managed office spaces right? Can someone working with some other company walk in and work there like Starbucks???

Yes, thats possible but again it would require a day pass which requires money😅

  • I went to wonderla in 2012 so no idea how it is then but I remember having fun with friends
  • You can also goto kormangala to check out pubs, there are a plenty of them there

Tons of treks & cool nature spots to visit under sub 100 KM radius. If you can rent / buy a bike you can visit these places over the weekend instead of spending it sloshed.

Also, Trivia and board games scene in Bangalore is quite good.
