When it's 9 am in the USA, employees need to clock in for work and when it's 5 pm in the USA, employees can clock out of work. If you are working from India for a US project, your work shift will be according to the US time zone. The time difference between USA and India is 9 hours and 30 minutes. So, when you work on a US project in India, you have to start at 11.30 pm and log out at 7.30 am. It is an odd timing and is considered a night shift in India. US shift timings can be frustrating at times because you don’t get enough rest, at night, which is quite important. However, as days go by, you get the hang of it. Furthermore, people who work in US shift timings get extra benefits and allowances. So, there are both pros and cons of working in the odd hours. When you’re starting to work in such late hours make sure you sit with a tumbler filled with coffee as you will need it more than ever. Take a few short breaks in between if it becomes exhausting.
